Well of course not liking her doesn't make her music bad. That would be the effect preceding the cause.
You had a human first officer take umbridge that Data (an Android / artificial life form) was given command of a ship over him. To be fair to the character in question, he did try to resign his post before he started spewing a lot of bigoted dialog. Data refused his request for transfer. After that he got pretty indignant at times.Eh, yes and no. We still had a semi-scene with Data in command and being argued with by another officer. I mean, I barely remember the episode so I could be wrong.

The episode was TNG "Redemption (Part II)", TNG's 5th season premiere episode.
One of my favorite episodes in the entirety of the franchise.I’m not getting that soft. Watched “Unification III” last night... that was garbage.
Agreed. It's pointless to argue with self-important edgelords anyway. So this is how it's going to be. You didn't even remotely consider the idea that we just stay out of each other's way.
Next time you want to bait me, don't make it so fucking obvious.
Don't worry. I'd never call you a "TOS Only Fan". Let alone a Star Trek Fan of any kind at all.
I'm done with this shit. I'll watch SNW, and I'll probably like it, but the last thing I want to do is come on here and talk about it with someone like you. Get bent.
If I want to talk about SNW, it sure as Hell isn't going to be here.
Indeed. Honestly, this was the place where I really appreciated what people like about interconnected universes with Burnham being able to use her Vulcan history, as well as the united Romulan/Vulcan culture as presented. Her mom's appearance was a little bit much but I love the deep character struggle of Michael so it works. One of my favorite episodes in the entirety of the franchise.
Some people need to stop gatekeeping and dictating who does or doesn't count as a fan. As one can be a fan of something yet still be disappointed or outright dislike some part of whatever it is they are a fan of.TrekBBS is a site for fans. Some people need to figure out if they still consider themselves fans, and, if not, they may be able to find something better to do with their time.
Agreed. I don't care for a lot of Trek but I like what I like. Still a fan. Some people need to stop gatekeeping and dictating who does or doesn't count as a fan. As one can be a fan of something yet still be disappointed or outright dislike some part of whatever it is t

Star Trek is a 55 year old franchise spanning several shows and movies. Not everyone is going to like every single millisecond of it.
TrekBBS is a site for fans.
Oh, is that how it is?It is a message board, not a cheerleading squad.
Not just a cheerleader, you have to be Zombie Cheerleader.Oh, is that how it is?
*Quickly hides pom-poms.*

That would be ideal, yes.I'd say so. Seriously, if you cut everyone who hates large parts of whatever their fav show/movie is doing out of the mix the very phenomenon of "fandom" would probably go extinct at this point.![]()
I love Trek. And there are even parts of episodes and films I love that I can find cringeworthy so...even when you win with Trek you can always find something you'd change or delete.
Fair enough, but Scotty out-Spocked Spock in Generations and saved the day.I would definitely not miss Spock's continuous ''everything you do, I can do better'' actions which undercut Scotty........particularly in TMP.
Only because those lines were originally written FOR the Spock character (except ultimately Leonard Nimoy declined to participate in the film for what he felt was just a glorified cameo appearance); so Berman did what he usually does...just gave the lines verbatim to the character who would be 'replacing' Spock in that scene; so Scotty suddenly becomes a 23rd century science officer who sounds eerily like Spock...Fair enough, but Scotty out-Spocked Spock in Generations and saved the day.
Oh, those lines were meant for…? Never mind.
