Is George Kirk More How You Pictured a Young Jim Kirk Than Chris Pine?

Re: Is George Kirk More How You Pictured a Young Jim Kirk Than Chris P

I will say his accent had too much "hokum" to it. In a Woody Boyd-ian kind of way.
He can probably do any accent they need: he's Australian, and he sounded midwest to me.

P.S. He's only 26. Pine is 29.

I'm an Aussie, and I don't watch the show he became famous on here, so I had no idea who he was. And I could tell he was one of ours - his vowels were way too Aussie.

Yeah, i said the same. He wouldve made a good Kirk. Hell, maybe he went for a audition for Kirk and they liked him so much they asked him to play his father. Much like PAul McGillion being so close to being scotty then as they were impressed at audition stage, they gave him a role.

I pictured a young Jim Kirk like George. But, maybe that was the point, using George as a kind of future echo to show what Kirk couldve been like having no lost his father in this timeline.

George on the Kelvin is probably used to convey what young Kirk would end up like in TOS timeline, but due to time meddling, it was a different story and he grew up differently with out his fathers influence in Abrams timeline, therefore does not become the Kirk we know, at least in some respects.

Hemsworth is 6'3.

No way Kirk is anywhere close to that height!

Chris Pine is 6'1. Shatner is about 4'10 without lifts.

Seriously though, Pine is 6'1, Shatner mustve been 5'8 - 5'9 at best in his day. not all that tall. So i dont see the problem of a 6'3 Kirk.

Midwesterners do have some vowels in common, such as diphthongs made with a's and o's. The group he has to pass muster with is Midwesterners, not his native speakers. And he did a good Midwest accent.

Yeah I thought the same thing when I saw Georgy-Boy that this is the perfect Kirk...!

But they do look alike the Kirk men (lol) huh!
