Is every episode SOMEBODY'S favorite?

The Way to Eden" is one of my favorite original Star Trek episodes.
The Final Frontier and Insurrection are two of my favorite Star Trek films.
"Sub Rosa" is one of my favorite episodes of The Next Generation.
Neelix is one of my favorite Star Trek characters.
"Endgame" is my favorite series finale.
Discovery is my favorite of the streaming-era Trek series (I'm not sure if this opinion is widely controversial or not).
Well, someone marches to the beat of a different drummer!

At least "These Are The Final Voyages..." is not on the list. There's still hope. :)

When Jonathan "Trek's answer to Ratzenberger" Frakes freely admits that he probably shouldn't have been there this time, it's pretty telling.

Still, I guess it's theoretically possible that this one has a huge fan somewhere.

I enjoyed it - wouldn't have it as an "all time great" episode but I liked tying them in and seeing that the people in 24th century would look back and take lessons from the past and so on and I found the story entertaining so no issues here

I can't see "Shades of Grey" being in the top 10 of anybody's list.
Though I admit to liking the Riker stuff between the clips, it wouldn't save the episode for any. "Code of Honor" has basically no redeeming qualities and have yet to read of anybody saying otherwise.

Had it not been for the writers' strike and production deadlines, or at least just removing the clip show junk, what's left is a very compelling alien jungle - something rarely seen in sci-fi - and one that's a genuine danger (which is even more rare.) The overall story is not a top 10, but some of the story's aspects are A+ for sure.

Agreed. It felt exactly like the rest of season 2 of TNG... a reminder that space IS dangerous. Probably the one season in the franchise that best exemplifies that.

Probably the vast majority of episodes are somebody’s favorite but not all. I’d be shocked if Beverly ghost sex, for example, were.

I've never understood why "Move Along Home" is so disliked. It's an escape room, something that is very popular in real life.

Yeah, escape rooms are popular now. I've never been in one myself, but I know my friends enjoy them these days.

Thirty years ago, not so much.

I don't care much for the episode, but my favorite bit from it is when Odo tells Primmin to beam him aboard the Wadi ship, and Primmin tells him that they can't just go beaming onto other vessels. Odo gets all cringy and apologetic, and says, "Oh, is that against Starfleet policy?" Yes, it is. And then he goes full Odo, "Well I'm not in Starfleet!"

It just occured to me... what if someone made a list of widely hated episodes from all shows, and see if any actually never get a vote for being a favorite or being great? Or at least not looked upon as a bad episode?

Of course, we would need a sort of voting system just to narrow it down, but I'm pretty sure there are at least 20 episodes across all shows that can easily be posted that can be widely agreed are bad episodes.

Why don't you set that up? Go by low ratings on imdb for instance with some Trekkie-cred adjustments (we know what the consensus among fans is, after all). Then you might post that list and give everybody 5 stars/points that they can distribute among the entries (or ten overall?). So a hypothetical person that LOVED "These Are The voyages" can give it 5 stars. That way, I imagine one can measure to what degree people collectively feel whether a certain episode deserves the hate it gets, or is underrated.

I like how you think. However, trying to do all that on my phone would just take forever. (I only use my phone to go online... the only computer I have is my work laptop, and I use it strictly for work purposes.) Plus only being able to use one finger to type all that... truthfully, I'd rather someone else who is likely better at internet searching handle that.

Yes, maybe these days. I was thinking more along the lines of when it was airing when it wasn't the most popular show around.

It definitely isn't top Tier. Not in my book.

Top Tier: TOS, TNG, DS9, SNW
Not: VOY, ENT, DISCO, PIC

Though the top tier shows have poor episodes and the not as good ones fantastic episodes. Or even whole seasons.

ENT4 & PIC3 are fantastic. DISCO 1 & 4 were darn good. PIC1 & ENT3 also.

I re-watched them all a couple years back, and VOY was the hardest to finish. No trouble on the others.

I like a lot of the crap episodes. "A Night in Sickbay", "Turnabout Intruder", "Code of Honor." I absolutely love "Threshold" and Robbie McNeill's performance. I love Star Trek V. I don't like "Shades of Grey" but I am sympathetic to it, like it's a car with flat tyres pulling a caravan trying to compete in Formula 1.

While I do not love it, I think "Code of Honor" is OK. Yes, the villian was black. But I kinda thought it was a decent take-off from "Amok Time." Good fight scene. Good Tasha episode.

Probably not every episode, but I think maybe every single main character across all of the shows is somebody’s favourite. There’s a poster on this board IIRC whose favourite character ever is Neelix.
