Probably a combination of lip service and the fact that he and Black are friends and he was really excited about working with him. He has ripped "Iron Man 2" after the fact and seemed sour about the franchise so the fact that he's pleased right now I'd take as a good sign.

I think it's probably true. I wonder if they'd continue forward with the same script if RDJ isn't happy with it. I watched Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang a few months back, and after that I'm really looking forward to IM3.

If RDJ had any issues with the script he most likely would have vocalized them to Black and they would have dealt with it. No doubt that subsequent drafts will feature some changes as they progress along with production.
