Iron Man 3 Discussion/Photos/ETC.

In Iron Man 2, Tony talks about manufacturing world peace but we never see it. There actually felt like there was less action in Iron Man 2 than in the first movie and I didn't think that was possible.

Yeah, one of the huge flaws with IM2 was that there were barely any Iron Man action scenes. We got way more and better done Iron Man action scenes in Avengers than we ever got in IM2, even though that movie had an entire team of superheroes!

New armor revealed at Comic-con

It certainly looks sleeker than the Mark VI used the Avengers movie.

Don't you mean the Mark 7? the second armor Tony wore after his Mark 6 was damaged by the Helicarrier blades.

Closer up look at the Mark 8

Blegh. I'm hoping this isn't the "Extremis" armor. There is a possibility that it's an aerospace suit, given that the gold-titanium is more prevalent that other armors.

I don't really like it, but I think they've earned the right to mess around a bit after having adhered to the comics for the past two movies.

Seriously, if they go "armor stored in his bones", I'm out.

Really, that's the dumbest element when it comes to the Extremis idea. I'll... "accept" that a under-suit is "stored in the hollows of his bones" that allows him better and quicker use of a physical, metallic, suit but the entire suit itself being stored in his bones? Ehhhh way too much for me to suspend my belief on.

How exactly does the suit come out of his bones?

According to Wiki, it was made or interacted with the same nanotechnology of Extremis and became literally part of his body, his body opening up and the panels expanding out around then sealing him in, regenerating afterwards, or something like that.

In "Extremis" it's just the undersheath (a body suit that allows him to connect to the physical armor.) Coming out of the bones isn't too hard, your bones are fairly hollow and porous (to llow for bone marrow to do its thing.) The "idea" is that the undersheath is stored in the "hollows of his bones" after being injected with a variant of the super-soldier serum. The undersheath comes out of the pores of his skin when he wants to release it allowing him better and quicker interaction with the armor and it's various abilities and even giving him a quicker response time and the ability to "think" the actions he wants the suit to make rather than talking to its AI.

In the comic, for example, he's able to instantly think to connect to orbiting satellites and get the information he wants to track a villain (someone else who had taken the "Extremis" serum and is rampaging through the city) instantly in his mind, again, rather than interacting with the AI and HUD inside his suit.

I might like that design better if they flipped the colors, and made the red the more prominent of the two. It does give me a bit of a Bleeding Edge vibe, but not quite.
