Iron Man 2: Build up till release DISCUSSION

I think Iron Man 2 is going to destroy the previous film's box office, but I'm not so sure it'll top The Dark Knight. Maybe opening weekend, because opening weekends are beaten all the time and don't really mean much. But total? I doubt it.

Agreed.

The British Film Board has rated the movie and the running time is 124 minutes and 29 seconds---almost exactly the same as the first one's run time.

Opening weekend is all that tracking discussion was about anyway. At the end they did give IM's total but it wasn't about beating TDK's overall total, just opening weekend.

Oh, yeah...beating opening weekend is quite possible. But in the end, who cares? I mean, I know the money people behind the studio do, it's tons of cash and they can market the picture in the following weeks with that. But in terms of cinematic history, opening weekend doesn't mean balls anymore.

So what, if any, will a post credits sequence be about in Iron Man 2?

There is a very juicy news about Iron Man 2 on BadTaste today. A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It's an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits. We are able to tell you what's about! It's a scene about... Captain America and Thor! So while it's not officially confirmed, we would suggest not leaving Iron Man 2 until after the credits.
