Does beg a few questions though..
If we are to assume that the main purpose of replacing Bashir was to ultimately cripple the Romulan/Klingon/Starfleet flets by sending Bajors star to go super-nova; then this begs the question how much of a free hand the changeling actually had?
For a long-term 'sleeper' mission like this, there would inevitably be situations in which Bashir-ling could take actions that would aid the Dominions plans. Of course, we assume that he would be unable to contact the rest of the Founders to seek advice/orders, so Bashir-ling would therefore be forced to act on his own iniative.
How much of a remit do you think Bashir-ling had? Actions allowing Sisko to die on the operating table? Or allowing the infant-changeling t die? Do you think that Bashir-ling could have taken actions as they arose that assisted teh Dominion's aims? Or for pivotal events would he have had to wait for instructions?
