Intrepid: Seasons Greetings and a little sneak peek.

Just wanted to wish everyone here Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas. :)

And in the vein of giving, I also wanted to share a little sneak peek at a scene from an upcoming film. We shot this quite a while ago and quite simply, much of the footage simply wasn't up to scratch. However we are slowly working to salvage what we have. We're still a long way off having a finished film, but in the meantime I wanted to give people a little peek at one of the things we're working on.

This scene has its issues (camera focus to name one) but I still think it's a nice little moment, and it feels like Star Trek to me. Apologies for the audio quality, we are yet to do any sound work on it.

Nice. Cute scene. Thanks for sharing!

But wow, that background really blows out in that one shot. Was the sun going in an our from behind clouds?

Do you mean the wide? To be honest I don't recall. It's possible, we had torrential rain just before we shot this scene so conditions were far from ideal. I've actually been doing some colour correction this evening which does, I think, tone that down a bit. Ironically, the wide is the only angle that's properly in focus.

Also, did I mention the mosquitoes? We got eaten alive that day.

Well, late in the film the sky glow in the wide is much more overexposed looking than in the earlier cuts. That's what I meant.

It might also be the fact that the camera operator neglected to lock down the exposure on this shoot. There are some issues in most of the scenes we shot for this with shifting exposure.

Nice scene I really like the crewmembers discussing space exploration I'm. Looking forward to watching the finished fanfilm it looks good.

Thank you both. :)

It'll likely be a while before this one is finished, there's a lot of work to do on it, and a lot of problems to address. We've got a couple of short films that'll be done well before that.

Ugh. Auto-exposure is the bane of almost any shoot that's trying to be at all professional.

So as it happens we’re suddenly making a lot more progress on this one than I expected. I’m hoping to shoot some pick up scenes this month and a lot of the FX work is now being delivered. We might finally finish it this year, even if it won’t be perfect.
