Intrepid - Nemo Me Impune Lacessit

I was actually going to say it marked a high point for Intrepid's audio quality. And as others said, this was a tight, easily accessible episode. I enjoyed it and look forward to your next offerings, particularly your planned "full-length" episode.

No problems with sound for me. If people are having accent problems, as a fellow Scot, I have no problems understanding Nick!;)

Great little episode, Nick, well worth waiting for in the continuing Intrepid saga! It's been cool and a pleasure watching you and the team progress:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Maurice, shame on you, not knowing what Ariadne was! Haven't you been watching Intrepid since it started!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I don't think this guy's struggling with the accents. In fact, he went so far as to offer sound recording advice, so I'm genuinely curious as to how others found it, and just concerned we're missing something obvious. As always, we keep trying to up our game, even if we don't always succeed. :)

You've definitely upped your game, don't worry, Nick.
I liked the back and forth banter between Hunter and Garen. Good character developement from start to finish, especially as they formulated the plan.

Whilst living in the Cayman Islands I discovered the best way for a Yank to understand the Scots was to be drunk. The drunker the better. Of course, if neither party remembers what was said, anyway....

I really like the shorts that you produce, Nick. It's nice to be able to 'take out' a few characters from a busy full-length episode and see how they interact with one another. I thought the blend between live-action lighting and the CGI set was very well done also.

I also didn't have any problems understanding what they where saying and I'm not an English 'speaking' native.

The text in the beginning helped a lot to understand the mini episode.
And with DS9 episodes like 'Honor among Thieves' and 'Prodigal daughter' we know what the Orion Syndicate are capable off.

By the way the First Contact uniforms are my '24th century' favourite.

Thanks Aaron, glad you enjoyed it. We keep trying, it's always good to know at least some people enjoy what we're doing. :)

And thank you also. Yeah, I like the First Contact uniforms a lot, though I probably like the 3rd season onward TNG uniforms best. :)

I posted this one Facebook a week or so ago, but I think it bears repeating here.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who worked on Nemo. Firstly, a very big thank you to Leo Tierney, without whom this would probably never have been finished. He took some truly dreadul greenscreen footage and made that terrible lighting actually look stylish. I have no idea how he did it, but he did an incredible job, and a lot of what's on screen is really down to him.

This wasn't the easiest shoot, we had to re-locate from the planned train tunnel (it was abandoned, don't worry) because of the weather (cold, windy, typical Scottish day to be honest) to a green screen shoot and hammer through a lot of pages on a very tight schedule. That we finished it at all is a miracle, and a testament to the hard work the cast and crew put in on the day. So a huge thank you to everyone who busted their asses on the day Alan Johnston, Steve Hammond (Director extraordinaire), Michael Cugley, Stephen Pasqua, David Reid, Lucita Faria, and David Lees and the greatly missed Gordon Dickson.

I also want to thank Steven Gilson, who put a hell of a lot of the early work into trying to get Nemo keyed, and also produced a number of effects shots which very much defined the final look of all the space VFX.

And while I'm talking VFX, a shout out and thank you to the always helpful Jon Carling who produced two excellent panel animations for me in double-quick time.

I mentioned Gordon Dickson up thread. It's hard to believe he's been gone for two years, and he still remains very much in our thoughts. When we initially shot this, his character of Kashid-Zar was referenced but not seen. We very much wanted to give Gordon his "flying off into the sunset" moment, and thanks to some existing footage, and a little rotoscope magic from Leo Tierney, I think we managed that.

Thank you also to Jared Cowing for gracing us with a wonderful score. There are moments in there that is really felt like an episode of TNG or Voyager, and I'd be foolish to ignore just how much the score adds to the tone of the whole thing. It literally isn't the same without it.

And of course, I can't thank everyone without mentioning the wonderful work Bodo Hartwig did on the sound effects and final mix. Bodo always gives it is all, and he always delivers.

So again, thank you to everyone who contributed to this. My sincere apologies if I've missed anyone off, it's been a while since we shot this so it's entirely possible someone has slipped my mind. If I've missed your name off the list, please know I am still very grateful for you help.

And last but not least, thank you to everyone who has taken to time to watch, share, or comment. We're really very happy to hear that most people seem to be enjoying this one. We've never claimed to be one of the big boys, but we do appreciate the feedback, both the positive and the negative.

And on that note, I'll shut up. :)

Well, Nick, it's because of Guys (and Gals) like your group, that fan films should survive the outcome of that disastrous debacle called Axanar. You dedicate your love and passion to show, what a real labour of love is.

No matter what, I hope, you'll never get discouraged and go on with your endeavours!

Congrats, Nick & Company.

You are far too modest Nick. You deserve credit for being willing to accept and apply constructive criticism. Every release has shown improvement. There's no limit to where you can end up as long as you keep going!

Thanks Mike. I'll admit, I don't find it easy taking the knocks, but I'd be an idiot to ignore the criticism. And in all honesty, we've learned a lot from just listening.

Oh there are plenty of people who don't like me, but thank you that's very kind. :)

We're working on replacing and updating our site. No idea how quickly that'll be, but hopefully soon. :)

Doug Drexler was kind enough to to watch Nemo and share it on his Facebook page. He said some really nice things to say and I was really touched that he took the time to watch it and comment.

I'd never seen any of their "Intrepid" fan films. I really enjoyed it! I highly recommend taking ten minutes. Great viewing for a Sunday morning! I'm smiling!

Please, if you haven't watched it already, or if you've seen our earlier stuff and it wasn't for you, give this one a shot. You might like it. Or not. :)
