Also it looks like this one's case is normally sized, not like the weirdo one for the 2009 film.

Well I'll be danged. The son of a gun got a release. There are many, MANY areas that this Deluxe Edition can do better than the previous film's Deluxe Edition soundtrack release, and that's going beyond just the packaging.

How do I find out if when it ships? (I've never ordered from Varese Sarabande before so I'mtotally clueless here) I'm chomping at the bits to listen to this. I've been listening to samples on Michael Giacchino's website and it's just stunning stuff.

Got mine! Also, unexpectedly, got my Naked Gun Trilogy as well. So...much....music... #audiogeekproblems

I will say the ID soundtrack comes with liner notes, albeit very brief ones. I couldn't recommend getting overly-excited about those, but at least they're there. I don't have the original release so can't comment as to any contrast. Besides that you get lots of still pics, nothing too exciting. So buy it for the music, not for the bonus features.
