Interesting Story Ideas and Relevations

If you where a writer for Doctor Who what interesting story idea's and/or revelations would come up with. I sometime's think of stuff that would be cool (if a bit fanwankery though) for instance what if:

The Master was really the Doctor!

Lets say that the Roger Delgato Master was really the Doctors 13th regeneration that has gone bad and as a result of trying extend his life the Valeyard was created later leaving the Master looking like he did in the two 4th Doctor stories becuse he could not regenerate anymore.

Then he goes on as you know, taking Tremas's body etc.. Lets say the Timelords knew about this and erased all knowledge that is why they don't seem to know about that Master in the Deadly Assassin and The Ultimate Foe but the High Councel knew about him in the Five Doctors.

The Doctor himself did know about this until the after Time War. When the Master was brought back the Timelords gave him a new set of regenerations as you know.

When the Tenth Doctor discribes the Master looking into the abyss as a child he is thinking back to himeself, otherwise how does he know what happened when the Master looked into the Abyss!

The sound of drums only started with Delgato's Master so when the Simms Master keeps asking the Doctor if he hears the drums, he is asking because the Doctor is him and thinks the Doctor hears them to although it does not start until after the Doctors 12th regeneration.

Also the 10th Doctor is remarkably close to him and does not want him to die, because this time he knows who the Master truely is. Well and there are no other Timelords..but still.

Too much of a stretch.. ok maybe..

What other ideas do you have?

I have several ideas...but all are being kept under wraps for when the Moff asks me to write an episode

Bascially some time in 2025...

the most interesting thing about the Master is the Doctor theory is that it was theMaster who first eat Jelly Babies in the new series not the Doctor.

This is old hat for those who know me, but I've been wanting the revelation that Lady President Romana, Leela, both K-9s, Susan, and Ace all escaped the destruction of Gallifrey by escaping to E-Space.

Actually, some time I had the opposite thought: the Master is not the Doctor... the Doctor is the Mater. Oblivious and forgetful of the real reason behind his struggle, he chases his past self, trying to stop him from actually succeeding in his nefarious plot.

And one day, when the last scheme of the Master is foiled and he lays down, dying, his body broken and his memory destroyed, flaming light will erupt from his body, and we will see him regenerating in a new body... that of a younger William Hartnell.

Oh, I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this. But... that would be so frigging awesome! Besides, before you can call yourself a Doctor, you need to have graduated with a Master's degree. ;)

I've had several ideas for the Time War featuring the Eight Doctor regenerating into the Ninth as he comes to Earth searching for the Nestne Conscience. I also have a concept called The Eleven Doctors which of course would feature all eleven doctors and their companions as they work together to discover who is erasing the Doctor from time and space.

I've worked up a base outline for The Time War movie trilogy, and a fourth movie which would link the end of the Time War with the first episode of the 2005 series. I'm more excited about the idea of the 9th Doctor's first hours of life, than I am the entire Time War. I just see a disheveled 9th Doctor walking around in tatters of McGann's outfit, rebuilding the interior of the TARDIS (which was decimated in the climax that also caused his regeneration) as best he can, which leads to why it looks so patchwork right now. Also, I'd like to explore where he gets the leather jacket, why he doesn't see his own reflection until ROSE, and I also see a nice little scene where he visits the Brigadier on his deathbed...

Like Starkers, I'm hiding my ideas until the Moff calls. Some time WAY in the future.

That said...

One is a Wirrn story

T'other is based on a line from, iirc, The Impossible Planet - "the Church of the Tin Vagabond".

And maybe another on the Skasis Paradigm being sought by a villain.

The "real world" Cybermen are the Pete's World Cybermen.

The Pete's World Cybermen simply move to the previously undiscovered planet of Mondas and continue their history from that point.

That was how the Pertwee era would have ended, had Roger Delgado not died. The intention was to reveal that the Doctor and the Master were the same person, one good and one evil. Some sort of yin-yang Buddhism thing.

Says who? I always heard they were going to be revealed to be brothers with the Master sacrificing himself for the Doctor.

Yeah, the brother sacrifice story is what I've heard. I've never heard about them being the one and the same.

Really?

I've often wondered if the Doctor and the Master are really one and the same. I think I've thought it so long that it kind of is that way for me. You know, in my own c****.

I sometimes wonder if the Doctor is moving back through regenerations rather than forward - he's getting younger, in a way. This almost pans out with TPTB agreeing to cast a yet younger actor in order to add credence to my idle speculation!

One thing I've always wondered about is this. We've seen varying incarnations of the Doctor, some of whom were more amoral than others (six. seven etc) yet the Master always seems to be as evil. I quite liked the idea of the Master regenerating and becoming, to some extent, good. Perhaps through a quirk in the regeneration process. I think it'd be interesting. Obviously I'm not suggesting he'd be a proper white knight, but more Spike than Angelus (if that analogy makes sense).

Of course the poignant thing would be that both the Doctor and the Master would realise that the next time he regenerated he'd likely revert to type.

^If he were a recurring character, I could see that being pretty damn cool. :techman: Get Alan Rickman to play him, too...

I love this idea. I think it would make a great story. I'd love to see the M and the D talking about the loss of Gallifrey and what that means to them as individuals and as a race. I'd love them to talk about their past actions, maybe the M trying to explain his actions, maybe the D revealing his discomfort at some of the things he's done. Then when they are coming to some kind of understanding they realise that the M's present incarnation is temporarily, or it's only a partial regeneration that didn't work, and the two of them have to broach the subject that maybe the M will revert to type and what that would mean.

They have to write this for the show. It could be amazing. :techman:

Eh. Sounds like those Star Trek episodes where we get to see "a new side to the borg" or "a new side to the Klingons" or whatever. By episodes end, the excellent enemy has been neutered. Give the Master some sympathy and his own side to things, and soon he won't be a villain anymore.

He needs to always be an arch nemesis, in my book. That doesn't more pure evil, but pure nemesis.
