Insurrection - the good, the bad, and the very bad

Nothing happens in ST:FC, either: the Borg threat is negated, Picard stops being Ahab, and a reset button pressed.

Ugh, we're introduced to the new Enterprise, the new Starfleet uniforms, the Borg Queen and how Earth made first contact with alien life. All of these elements would carry over into future installments of Star Trek both in the movies and series. I'd hardly qualify that as nothing happening.

The ship carries over to the movies, sure. And then disappears. It doesn't change anything much; ST:INS introduces a number of auxiliary craft that actually play a dramatic role in the movie, making a much bigger impact than the mere swapping of one hero starship design for another.

"How Earth made first contact with alien life" is the topic of that movie, and then becomes irrelevant and is never discussed again - just as the fountain of youth in ST:INS.

Uniform change counts as "happening"?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree: the movies IMHO are standalone installments with no impact on the rest of Trek, or on each other (the costume, prop and model budget spilling over notwithstanding). The heroes don't change, evolve or devolve in any way, except inside each movie, after which there is a reset. Sure, Data dies at the end, but that's the end of the whole kaboodle: there's no TNG Trek beyond that death. Oh, and Riker shaves.

I don't know. Nemesis had a pretty big impact on the franchise.

The Good: Sets, costumes, makeup, FX(not perfect, but good).
The Bad: A dull, melodramatic short story that shouldn't fill a half hour drawn out to two hours long.
The Ugly: The Son'a. Eeeuuh.

The very bad? Who are you kidding?

The events of FC were referenced a lot in ENT: Many mentions of Zefram Cochrane and first contact with the Vulcans. Footage of Cochrane giving a speech about the space mission. Archer having a replica of the Cochrane statue in his quarters (eventually he hits some guy on the head with it). First contact recreated with a twist for the Mirror Universe episode (with a fresh appearance by James Cromwell as Cochrane). The Borg episode following up on the remnants of the Borg sphere that were left on past Earth in FC. That's quite a lot of influence for a "stand-alone installment with no impact".

^There is no new footage of James Cromwell in the Mirror Universe episode. All the footage of him is from FC. As proof, I offer that at no time is his face seen when Cochrane goes for his gun. That was a stand-in.
