Long story short: I have a desktop computer running Windows XP. I also have a copy of Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
Recently, I had to replace the hard drive on the computer and basically re-install everything.
In January, I re-installed this same copy of Windows XP on the original hard drive as well as the same copy of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and managed to get everything to work properly.
Last month, the hard drive finally crashed and had to be replaced. I've replaced it with a new drive that's got about seven or eight times as much space on it. I've re-installed all my programs, applications, etc. The one program which will NOT install is Photoshop 7.
I've Googled and researched, but nothing seems to fix the issue. I can begin the install process, but once I plug in the serial number/key, the installation stops. It doesn't freeze or crash or anything, it just stops.
Now, I had a very similar issue years ago with this machine and this copy of Photoshop doing this exact same thing, but somehow figured it out ... and being that I was able to effortlessly install and run the program seven months ago, I'm at a loss as to how this is happening.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
As always, thanks in advance to any and all for your advice and help.
