Eddie has had as many different looks as there have been albums, singles and maybe posters & t-shirts.
On Seventh Son he was a floating torso & on Fear Of The Dark he was part of a tree.
Their success seems to be entirely independent of radio play. They have never had any sort of radio support whatsoever in the UK even when they were wildly popular, and yet they still managed to get Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter to Christmas no.1 and sell bucket loads of albums throughout their career.
I imagine the only time Radio 1 played Bring Your Daughter was during the chart rundown itself.
That goes to show what cool is."No, we don't do $250," IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson says about acts that would charge that much and more. "But that's bullshit anyway. What that is is all these quote-unquote 'heritage' acts . That's the name they've branded themselves with." "Basically, you're going and seeing a bunch of bands that have been around for a while doing the same old shit. They just come out of the woodwork after 10 years and go, 'Hmm, let me see. You're going to pay through the nose for seeing the same old shit so were gonna rape you for 200 bucks a ticket.' And what that says to me is, 'We won't be doing this again any time soon' or 'If you're crazy enough to pay this money and sell out, well maybe we'll come round again next year and see if it works again.'"
And as far as a "group" that hasn't changed their sound much at all, but still kicks major ass...Megadeth.
