Awaited by fans since the birth of the format, Indiana Jones is coming to Blu-ray this fall! A box set is planned that will include Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Full specifications and cover art are expected to be available soon but, in the meantime, you can check out the official press announcement below:

The man with the hat is back – and looking better than ever! The world’s favorite globe-trotting archaeologist is, at long last, embarking on his greatest adventure – when "The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection" comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Media Distribution. The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection will be excavated in the fall of 2012 and will include all four of Indy’s thrilling adventures, using the highest possible high definition picture and audio presentation – along with a “best of” collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes and a few new surprises.

UPDATE: You can now check out a trailer for the release in the player below!

Great news. Looks like this is going to be an awesome set!

I'd prefer to be able to buy the movies individually. I don't particularly like ToD or KotCS. I expect they will unbundle the titles at some stage.

You might have to wait a few years if you want to buy the movies individually.

Companies usually release a classic movie series as a big box set first before releasing its movies individually. That way they can make as much money as possible.

The Indiana Jones dvd release was first sold as a collection too.

Lucas was recently kind enough to release Star Wars on Blu-ray as one big saga set, a OT set, and a PT set.

In that case, I'll wait for the price to come down on the set. Although ToD starts off well enough, it goes downhill (or should that be underground) pretty fast. KotCS has almost no redeeming features at all.

I bought the Indiana Jones set when it first came out on dvd. Not really a fan of TOD but I've rewatched ROTLA and TLC many times. The two movies were worth the money and the dvd box art was really nice. It eventually took 5 years for each movie to be released individually and no way was I waiting that long to get them.

I'll probably approach this Blu-ray set the same way.

Maybe I live in an alternate universe, but I thought they already did a Blu-ray set for Indy around the time Crystal Skull came out. And Crystal Skull was on Blu-ray.

Only Crystal Skull has been released on Blu-ray.

There is lots of bitching on other blu-ray forums from people that already bought KOTCS since that movie is included again in this set.

I'll wishlist it, but probably won't outright purchase unless, for instance, commentary tracks are included for every film.

So after we all buy the Blu-Ray they will start on another Indy film, thus repeating the cycle right?
Am I being cynical? ;)

I love all of the first three movies, and while KotCS isn't great, it's still pretty good. I'll definitely be getting this. :techman:

My theory is that an Indiana Jones film requires Nazis to elevate it above mediocre. Thuggees and communists just don't cut the mustard.

Nah, my theory is they require a George Lucas who hasn't completely lost the ability to tell a good story.
