Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom v's Star Trek III

l guess l'm in the minority but l kind of prefer Robin Curtis as Saavik over Kirsty.

Well, it's aout damn time! I thought I was the only person in the universe who preferred Robin to Kirstie. All my friends who are also Star Trek fans liked Alley better. Even my mom did, though, she wisely didn't say so when we met Robin at the convention we attended years back.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in this.:bolian:

l think Robin just had a lot more to do with the character- going down to the Genesis planet, having a little Pon Farr action with teeny Spock, and so on- to the point where l just associate her more with Saavik. l do think, however, that Kirsty was a cuter Saavik. Robin was hotter when she played Tallera, the Romulan on TNG.

Really? See, I never cared for the hairstyles on the Romulan and Vulcan women in Picard's time. Everybody looks like 12 year old boys. I thought Robin was hotter as Saavik (not to mention real life. I am the proud owner of a photograph of the two of our with our arms around each other!).

Oh well, at least we agree that she made the better Saavik.

I actually saw both of these movies on the same day and remember loving them both although I was only 13 at the time. I'd have to say that ToD was more fun than ST3 which was a bit of a downer compared to ST2.
It wasn't until years later with more adult tastes that I lowered my opinion of it especially compared to The Last Crusade.
It seems that ST movies are only good on the even ones and Indy movies only good on the odd ones. So I'm hoping Indy 5 gets made. That is unless it becomes Indy's "Nemesis" movie that breaks the streak.

While I like them both as good solid entries in two of my favorite series, I'd have to give it to Temple of Doom.
At least it get's going in the second act, where as Search for Spock feels as if it never really gets going at all.

I don't know how any Trek fan could not love TSFS, what with all the incredible new ships and designs it introduced (the Bird of Prey, Spacedock, the Excelsior, the Grissom...)

Plus it has this great kind of magical, romantic feel to it that I just never get tired of, and that none of the other Trek movies really seem to have.

AND a pretty good soundtrack by James Horner.
