In the future of Syntehol, is there underage drinking?

I think it’s not so much that I don’t always want to see Starfleet as much as I like to explore the background stuff that then gets referenced in the Starfleet shows. It’s fun to see connections to earlier references light up.

I like to see the guts of ships and see the bits and pieces that make everything go. That’s why the idea of anyone—mercenary or otherwise—on the run with an outlaw companion implies broke down ships in need of repairs (more stuff to explore—engine parts and ship maker companies, for instance), seedy bars with hot alien chicks, loud music and intense chase scenes, shootouts and ultimately, the bad guys getting served by the antiheroes.

Not to overly distil the show down as it was about far more than that but Farscape more or less is the show you're looking for.

Farscape is a beautiful show with some amazing alien work, and a very workmanlike feel.

I think the idea of a engineering based show is fine (see the book series Corps of Engineers) but I just think the mercenary aspect and the on the run is not that interesting, and very cliche, and way outside the purview of Star Trek. Heck, this whole thing sounds like Han Solo in Star Trek.

Never got into Farscape much, but yeah, I wish the aliens on 90s Trek could have looked as great as the aliens in Farscape.

I’m not set on a mercenary character. Change it what you think would fit better. I do like the idea of a neverdowell palling around with a Romulan rebel who Starfleet would scoop up if they knew he was around.

Sort of the Jarlaxle character of Star Trek. Lol
