In New York for two days...

Appreciate the suggestions. I found out the Mets game is a day game, so that leaves only one day. I'm thinking MoCCA and the Met Museum. If I can make it work, Katz's Deli it will be. Food is as important as anything else, if not more so. Love to cook, so love food.

I'm leaving for a cross country road trip on Saturday. In 14 days we're going from Phoenix, AZ to Dodge City to Chicago to Niagara Falls to Cooperstown to NYC to Gettysburg to Pittsburgh to Dallas to San Antonio to Roswell & back. (I'm looking forward to a lot of it. I haven't been out of the southwest since I was in grade school. Although the 800+ mile 1-day drive from Pittsburgh to Springfield, MO is setting off my "Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die!" alarms.)

I've been thinking of things I'd like to do in NYC. First on my list is stalk Sam Waterston but I doubt that's plausible. I was thinking Coney Island, Empire State Building, the Museum of Television & Radio. Hell, I'm just interested in seeing anything New York since the entire tone of the city sounds completely foreign to me. For a sprawling suburban boy like me, the very idea of a subway as a viable form of transit just blows my mind!

scarab, do you have your Yankee tickets yet? If not, when you get them, make sure they are in the right field bleachers (Sections 202 and 203). Then you can sit with these fine folk.

I did that last May. It was literally a life changing experience for me, it was so much fun. Yankee games are not complete without them!

The Wikipedia entry on them certainly made it sound interesting. Unfortunately, all the bleacher seats are sold out for the day I'll be in New York. Besides, my father was born a Mets fan. I'm not sure he'd ever forgive me. (Hell, I'm a Diamondbacks fan. And in the 2001 World Series, the Yankees got exactly what they deserved.)
