I'm never awake this early

RoJoHen

After being completely exhausted yesterday at work from the previous night's drink-a-thon, I managed to fall asleep pretty early. As a result, I actually got a full night's sleep and woke up today, on my own, at 8:45am. That NEVER happens. I usually have a hard time waking up before noon!

It's about 10:30am now. I've eaten breakfast. I vacuumed my apartment. I even watched an episode of BSG. And now I'm off to the gym!

There is so much time left in the day! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself!

Take a nap. :D

What's sad is that I will probably have to by mid-afternoon.

My friends and I are cooking out today, though, so that should occupy some time. It's also a gorgeous day today! It normally rains on my days off.

I am usually up by 9 even if I was up really late the previous night/earlier in the day. But I am so good at wasting time that I need it.

8:45am?? That's my lunchtime! Okay, that's a boast, but I AM up at 5am every day without fail. I can't help it. I got into the habbit of getting up at the same time as my grandfather when I was a kid so we could have breakfast together, and now, nearly twenty years after he died, I'm still doing it.

I guess you could say that I do more by 8:45am than you do all day.:D

That's probably true.

I never have to be at work before 4pm, though, and I usually work until midnight, so it's hard to give myself reason to wake up early. Hell, you're waking up around the time I normally go to bed!

I get up at 7:00AM everyday-- my old job I used to get up at 4AM... though I miss getting up at 11:00 in college.

Especially after things like drink-a-thons I ALWAYS wake up early, filled with energy -BUT need a nap later on :rommie:

Don't feel bad, the older I get, this has become true for me too. I'm up at 5am, and am starting to notice the need for a 30-45 minute nap around 2pm.

Doesn't happen every day though. Not yet, anyway.

I know how you feel, RoJo. I get a little freaked out if I ever wake up before noon, too.

I'm really gonna miss having that kind of luxury once I finally get a "real job." :p

I envy those who just automatically wake up anytime before 8am. I'm at the point where I seem to need a good 9-10 hours of sleep a night. I hate it.

This was my first weekend free of any weddings or other huge events, so I was really looking forward to sleeping in. I was hoping for something insane like ten hours. Of course I woke up at 7:30, but that meant that I got almost seven hours of sleep which is still well above my average.

Ever since I got my whole thyroid situation under control I've had so much more energy. It's crazy. Even if I'm not sleeping more, I'm able to get so much more done. Next step: aim for a reasonable bedtime!

I had to stay up most of the night the other night and do a project for my Aunt and her resturant that took us nearly 13 hours to complete. I started at 1pm and finished @ 2:30am. The worst part was that I couldn't get to sleep until 4 or 4:30am and I felt like a zombie the next day. I couldn't even take a nap!! I was so tired in the morning and then in the afternoon it was like I had three cups of coffee cause I was wide awake!
The weekends are the only time that I do sleep in..and during the weekdays I try to get up between 7-8am.

My sleep time is really fluctuating these days.

I was always a late sleeper: my parents had problems making me going to sleep at 11pm when I was in grade school, and at the end they just gave up, since my performance in school never suffered for that. I just needed less sleep that other kid. I always liked sleeping in when I could, tho.

That continued in high school and college (about 5 hours of sleep at night, since I went to bed usually at 2am and wake up at 7am).

In grad school I slept a bit more, since I never needed to wake up early (the few lessons were in the afternoon), but I kept skipping some night sleep, just because. Now I'm doing my PhD and I find myself locked in a routine of Night One: no sleep; Night Two: 6 hours; Night Three: no sleep; Night Four: 12 hours. Repeat from Night One. It's getting weirder and weirder. :wtf:

Now it's almost 7am and I'm on Night One. :shifty:

Wow. You must suffer a lot. The times I've managed to skip an entire night's sleep. I am utterly useless the next day, even the simplest tasks become impossible. I find it impressive you are still useful whilst missing every other night of sleep! That's amazing.

Yeah, actually I'm quite over-energized when I do. Now, if I can focus my energy into something useful, like writing my effing thesis... :shifty:

I'm up about 6 to 6:30am every day. On the weekends, there is soooo much work to do that if I don't get up early enough, I won't have any of that lazy morning, cuppa joe time I covet so much :)

I get up at 5:30am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. The older I get the less time I feel like spending in bed.
