It was her mother cavorting with the evil Gul Dukat ... frankly I'm surprised she didn't interfere more in the time line. Instead, she changed her mind about blowing Dukat (and her mother) up. Sisko's hardly one to talk about not interfering in past timeline's anyway ... Gabriel Bell anyone?
And all this right in the middle of a war, started by Dukat. Complete and utter BSI hate this episode - it's ridiculous. Am I supposed to believe that Dukat would not tell Kira at the earliest opportunity that he was sleeping with her mother during the Occupation, etc? Really?
Or, worse, after six years he only just put two and two together?
And nobody (Bajoran or Cardassian) ever mentioned or noticed that the mother of the Bajoran second in command of DS9 was the former lover of Dukat? I thought both sides didn't look too fondly on this sort of thing?
It had all the hallmarks of a 'very special episode' of Star Trek Deep Space 90210.
