I'm done with Discovery

Yes, he is. But, people are allowed to disagree and exchange ideas. That's the point of discussion, not the "I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude.

Then how is it creepy for someone to comment on his viewing habits if he is posting about them?
Did you read his posts? He made valid criticism. On several writing and plot points.

I'm not disagreeing with their points. The disagreement comes from the "I'm leaving! I'm done with Discovery!" If they are truly done, I wish them well. But, if it is like others who state the same and then return then I find it disingenuous, at best.

I'd be done with the show as well if I had to pay for it. It's certainly not worth the money of CBS All Access. They are exploiting the Star Trek fanbase for their hand-earned dollars.

Thankfully, STD airs for free in Canada, on TV.

So you don't mind STD as far as it's free? :D Ok then, welcome back to STD forum. Just torture your mind to the limit, watching something that you hate :D :D :D :D :D

That's life kiddo. People might be done watching but still want to vent. I really don't know or care too much who says they're going or staying. I just read a post and go from there.
:)

And I observe life. But, given the OP is "I'm done with Discovery" it follows that they actually be done. I'm weird like that.

I enjoyed the first half of this season. The last three mirror universe episodes though have been terrible.

The writing is awful. The plot twists so contrived and pointless. Their obsession with brutality (Georgiou killing her aids, really.) and shock value (one off F bomb) is pathetic. They've visited a grand total of two planets in 12 episodes. Half the cast is unlikable. Burnham has ZERO personality. Lorca's intriguingly complex character was utterly assassinated in yet another moronic plot twist. The script is robotic. The space shots last about two and a quarter seconds before cutting away. Discovery the vessel herself either sits there doing nothing, or jumps. The Mirror Universe episodes are unpleasant, the "evilness" of everything is cringeworthy and MU itself was introduced waaaay too early in the show. The Voq storyline was pointless. Oh and the writing is awful. Worth saying a second time.

Hire new writers, PLEASE.
Beats the crap with the Klingon subtitles, it put me off with the early episodes.

Yeah, Donker, same here. I'm used to reading subtitles while still enjoying the action. I was also glad to hear more of the Klingon language, spoken with far more accuracy and frequency than in the past. For me, at least, it was decently immersive.

I'm still not a huge fan of the make up design, but only because it seems even harder for the actors portraying Klingons to emote and enunciate.

I'm so surprised how well the show is received on here. The last few episodes have been about as far away from Star Trek as can be. No storyline, just plot twists that you can see coming a mile off, lots and lots of killing people in gruesome ways and wooden dialogue. Oh and more plot twists, cause that's interesting right!
I'm not surprised. TrekBBS is an echo chamber for people that like anything new with the name "Star Trek" slapped on it. A lot of people around here were going to like the show no matter what. There are some dissenters, but not many.

Outside of here, most people are lukewarm or indifferent to the show.

Discovery's writing is very childish and immature. It's objectively in the bad-to-mediocre range.

They'll have to find other utter fanwank to exploit next year.

Just checking, you do realise there are other TV shows, other interests you could pursue. In a world rich with abundant leisure opportunities, you seem to have settled on something that’s not for you.

The world will still turn if you move on and find something you do like.

Sure, in your opinion. I guess that's why it's on top of the charts for streaming shows worldwide...........

OP made subjective comments about the show, ones which are neither articulate nor insightful. They would not sway someone who had a different opinion in the slightest. Thus, they amount to empty-noise, an attention-seeking vent of no real merit.

In other words, "My opinion is objectively right, and those who don't share it are obviously just deluded/blinded saps."

I didn't think the thread could get much worse from the OP, but there you go.

Sorry, but the TrekBBS is anything but an echo chamber, that fact that people disagree in this forum all the time is proof of that. It's pretty obtuse to come into a forum for a TV show that you don't like and expect everyone to agree with you, one could say that you are the one looking for an echo chamber. The 'true trek fans hate discovery and everyone who does is a dullard' worldview that you and others have is petty and to use your words, childish and immature. It's sad that people have to resort to that to try and make their point.

And don't get me started on the pathetic turning a Klingon into a human storyline which, now that Voq is dead, went absolutely NOWHERE.
The season isn't over, how do you know it went nowhere? The whole experience will obviously affect Tyler, a tortured, broken POW. It will change how people see him, many probably won't trust him anymore and question his loyalty because is Voq really gone or was L'Rell just good at hiding him again? Even if Vow is truly dead, Tyler is still there and so is L'Rell so the story is ongoing.

You've been here for a few years, did you not notice how this fandom is and has always been very divided on what it likes? Collectively we're also not shy to criticize aspects of Star Trek and call out shit when it's shit. This isn't an echo chamber, there has been a lot of criticism especially early in the season.

Outside of here, most people are lukewarm or indifferent to the show.
Bold claim, any proof?

Discovery's writing is very childish and immature. It's objectively in the bad-to-mediocre range.
Then please give me some objective reasons why it's bad.
