I'm done bit**ing

...causes me to suspect that the denizens of that forum were not the target audience. I'll leave this open for a little while to give S'kai a chance to respond or to request a move.

S'kai posted pretty much exactly the contents of this OP, minus the Trek XI references, in the Phase II: Ktumba thread in Fan Productions. So in a way, it's already there.
Well, that pretty much renders a thread-move pointless, doesn't it? :vulcan:

watched a bit of it just now, good ideas/stories and production values. The acting's not great but hey it's star trek.

So what does Phase II have to do with Star Trek XI again?
Good question. S'kai? Any help?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I am still a little stage struck. The connection for me was that Star Trek XI's (do not get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie) flaws have become irrelevant to me. After being at Phase II I felt like we were lighting a candle rather than cursing at the darkness.

This sounds like a topic for GENERAL DISCUSSION. It is a good topic, just not related to Star Trek 2009.
Fan Productions might seem at first to be a better bet, as that's where the rest of the Phase II discussion goes. However, this post:

I just returned from four days, my first visit, on the set of Star Trek Phase II. I have to say it is the best Star Trek experience I have ever had, dwarfing all conventions, events, showings, and even the movie.

Complain about the movie all you want. If it is not the Trek to your liking, forget it and move on. It all shrank to insignificance when I realized WE ARE MAKING STAR TREK. Here. Now. There is no feeling like being with a whole bunch of people working on a quality project for the love of it.

If you have not seen any of Phase Two go immediately to
http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/ and download and view an episode. I personally recommend World Enough and Time as a good starter. The quality is amazing.

Then, get involved. If nothing else send a couple a bucks
(heck man, how much would a DVD cost you?). If you can, arrange a visit to the set in Port Henry, NY. It is truly
awesome to stand on the bridge or the transporter.

THIS IS YOUR FATHER'S STAR TREK.

Move it where you wish. I was not aware of the previous thread, although I did do a search.
