Hm, perhaps it varies per country? So far, over here, it's all over the place.

In North America new DVDs/blu-rays are almost exclusively released on Tuesday, though some big movie releases to get released on other days of the week. MCU and the Hunger Games movies come out on Friday, the Twilight movies came out on Saturday, Avatar came out on a Thursday.

A quick Google search says April 5th, 2016, but who knows. Definitely not May the fourth though;
Big business has no interest in being cute.

Also makes sense for SW to make headlines in April for the dvd release, and May for May 4th.
Better to be talked about twice than once for two things.
