Apart from TMP and that DS9 episode (By Inferno's Light) has that ever been mentioned anywhere else?
Ships always warp inside solar systems, just look at the launch of the NX-01 & NX-02 in ENT

And yet, in the Demons/Terra Prime two-parter of ENT, when Robocop wants to take his Moonbase to warp within the solar system, Trip and T'Pol are shocked proclaiming "You can't warp within the solar system, you'll tear the ship apart."
They were bluffing.Apart from TMP and that DS9 episode (By Inferno's Light) has that ever been mentioned anywhere else?

I didn't see him, but I did see the actor who played him, Peter Weller.

This quote from Paris comes to mind: "Faster than light, no left and right."
I always assumed that warp speed is so fast that they can only go in 1 direction, and cant make any course corrections until they drop out of warp.
I wondered the same thing with ST X1. The answer is the guys who did this new movie have no concept of what Star Trelk is about. They probably never even watched it before being asked to do the movie. It's all about money. As a true Trekker I am more than disgusted and not a little sorry for them.
So there's hope??
Why is it that of of late i've been seeing ships go to warp near planets, which are inside Solar Systems?
Correct me if i'm wrong (which i'm not) but in the episode (cant think of it or find the name anywhere, but you'll know what i'm talking about) inwhich the changling Dr Bashir is about to destroy Bajors sun. Kira tells Dax to go to warp, but Dax responds with: "We cant go to warp inside a Solar System" where Kira replies with "If we don't there wont be a Solar System anymore"

If by "of late" you mean "within the last 40 years", then yeah that makes sense.
Just about every episode of TOS and early TNG ends with the Enterprise going to warp right in a planet's orbit.
And the Defiant does it anyway, clearly showing that it's possible. So what's the problem?Correct me if i'm wrong (which i'm not) but in the episode (cant think of it or find the name anywhere, but you'll know what i'm talking about) inwhich the changling Dr Bashir is about to destroy Bajors sun. Didn't they establish this in TMP ? I seem to recall when the Enterprise left Kirk said they had to wait until outside the solar system before going to warp.
