If you were with the rebellion/empire which ship would you pilot?

TIE Interceptor. One of the best looking ships in the whole SW universe, and pound-for-pound one of the most vicious.

A-Wing would be my backup. . . pretty damn tight fit in there though.

Out of the list I would prefer to fly the X-Wing, however the design I like the most is the B-Wing. I just remember how much of a bitch it was to fly in X-Wing and generally mixing it with other fighters is a bit more fun then attacking capital ships.

If we were to include EU designs I'd change to an E-Wing, which beats the X-Wing hands down in very category.

Based on experiences in a certain videogame series, an A-Wing. But only because there's no option for TIE Defender.

No one's a fan of those Naboo fighters? :p

I think all the Naboo ship designs are the nicest in the whole Star Wars universe. They weren't an option, however. I chose the TIE Advanced. If it's good enough for Vader, it's good enough for me.

TIE Interceptor!

I want my engines to scream in space and have my weapons sound like a rattlesnake's hiss.

I always loved the Y-wing. It gets my vote because it has a rotating turret so you can shoot behind you! bad-ass multi-role fighter.

i thought A-Wings had hyperdrives. sure they do in the X-Wing novels.

speed's all very well, but it don't do you no good if you ain't got the shields to protect you.

of prequel era stuff, i'd go with the Eta-2 Actis, the Jedi Starfighter used by Anakin and Obi-Wan in ROTS. the ARC-170's nice though...

I've flown everything on the list extensively in all manner of combat missions(We're talking X-Wing and Tie Fighter of course). And each ship has strengths and weakness except for the Tie-Fighter and Tie-Bomber which are honestly horrible. The Tie-Interceptor is only saved by its extreme speed.

The B-Wing is burly, but its weapon placements makes accuracy somewhat harder and it is a big target and not particularly fast or agile. The Y-Wing is robust, but old and out of date compared to the B-Wing.

So it really comes down to the X-Wing and A-Wing.

I love the X-Wing, great design, great balance of speed, weapons, shields etc.

But the A-Wing is fast and can decide when and where to engage the enemy, plus it is a straight dogfighter, and in a tight fight at close range it is extremely hard to hit being so small. And at longer ranges it has concussion missiles which give it an edge against starfighters.

So, if I had to choose one fighter, it would be the A-Wing

My BAD! Sorry guys/gals, but I didn't think about those because ''technically'' they were not part of the rebellion!:vulcan:

I always enjoyed the TIE Avenger. It was the follow-on to Vader's Mk I Advanced and was essentially the TIE equivalent of an X-wing: four guns, two torp launchers, shields and a hyperdrive. The TIE Defender always seemed a little too wanky, same with the Missile Boat. There's no way either one of those (or the B-wing for that matter) could carry all the ordnance you get in game and designs like the Defender, intended to be the best at everything, usually end up being mediocre at everything.

I think the A-wing didn't have an astromech but it could hyperjump. It just had to rely on preprogrammmed jumps instead of recalcs on the fly. I want to say Ackbar helped design the B-wing and maybe ... Madine helped with the A-wing? My nerd-fu used to be stronger and I don't feel like hunting through wookiepedia. I'm sure someone else will soon enough.

How about for absolute worst fighter? Like, I'd rather take my chances EVA bad.

I nominate the ridiculous Corralskipper from New Jedi Order. No, biowank control of on-demand quantum singularities in a living rock-ship spitting lava balls is not cool and not Star Wars. It is stupid. Crank 2 stupid.

I would go with the TIE-Defender, which was always my favorite when playing the 'Tie Fighter' series for PC.

Why it rocks:
-Hyperdrive
-Quad lasers
-Dual ion cannons
-Dual torpedo/missile launchers
-Shields
