If death is not an obstacle, my first choice would be Jon Pertwee because everything is better when Jon Pertwee says it. As my life is rather boring, I need all the help I can get.

How about Sean Pertwee?

I don't think I've ever consciously seen him in anything so I have no idea what he sounds like. I doubt he sounds like his father, though.

You'll definitely have seen him in something, seeing as he's been in a hell of a lot of genre films, as well as his voice-over work for TV and video games.

You're right, he doesn't sound like his father that much, but he's got a very distinctive and instantly recoginsable voice. This video is a good example of his voice (he usually goes with this, or cockney)...

Two Words, Ron. Pearlman.

"War. War never changes..."

Well, there's actually quite some similarity between his own and his father's voice. I've seen Equilibrium once, years ago, but in the dubbed version, like so many other genre films. And back then, I hadn't even heard of Doctor Who.

Yeah, there are definite similarities. He's his father's son both vocally and visually, no doubt about that.

I'm a big fan of the guy, he's a damn good actor, and I like a lot of the work he's done. Everything from stuff like Dog Soldiers, to his work on video games like the Killzone series (although I was gutted to hear they couldn't fit him into the third game somewhere, would have been nice for Hakah from the first game to show up again).

Interesting topic. I don't really know...

James Purefoy has an excellent, rich-sounding, voice. In the absence of actually thinking too much about this, I'll go with him.

If the reading was in Italian, there could be no other choice but the late Vittorio Gassman. Here, reading Dante's Inferno (Canto XXVI).

For an English voice, I'm not really sure, except that it needs to have a RP British accent. ;)

Ok, this one is out in left field, but I would like Don Adams to narrate my life. Just the thought of Maxwell Smart/Tennessee Tuxedo talking about my high and low points brings a smile to my face.

From those listed I'd say Patrick Stewart without a doubt. But... I think Nathan Fillion would be awesome.

I think my top pick would be the Narrator from Pushing Daisies, Jim Dale with Sir David Attenborough following close behind.

After recently discovering Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds I would also have to put Richard Burton on the short list as well.

A few others:

Patrick Stewart
Morgan Freeman
Avery Brooks
John Hurt

And maybe Vincent Price for Halloween.
