If Wesley was replaced by Naomi...

Help , moderator! Please steer us away from child molestation jokes!

And to the original question...Naomi , as Wesley's stories had been written, would have been more tolerated.

^I certainly didn't mean that by my Flotter comment and I apologize if it came across that way.
Wesley was an adult before the end of TNG, and Wheaton is 41 now. If someone counts as a child molester because they're attracted to someone who once was a child, we're ALL in trouble. ;)

While I'm replacing characters, if they replaced Wesley with Naomi and Alexander with Jake, with all of their stories, TNG would be more of a family oriented ship.

Now that I think about it, I didn't like any of the kids on TNG.

Alexander was awful though obviously Worf didn't help. It kind of was interesting to see someone effing up the parenting so badly.

Jake was never awful, he gets huge kudos for that :techman:

I would have gone with Jake.

Naomi's stories would have been like Imaginary Friend and Hero Worship. The TNG writers had a bit of an idealized view of childhood.
Other than the slap-worthy comments Wesley made to Riker about his own mother's love life in "Encounter at Farpoint," the child-oriented stuff that annoyed me most was the episode where the little boy's mother died on an Away Team. That kid's hair was perfectly groomed. Every. Damn. Second.

From my own memories of being a kid (or even an adult) and losing a close family member to sudden death, keeping my hair carefully combed was definitely not even close to the top 20 things to worry about. Did this kid in TNG even have any adult supervision overnight?

I dunno. Neelix and Wesley playing in the Flotter forest.. could be hot.
Wesley would be conducting some kind of weird experiment on Flotter that would end up almost destroying the ship or sending somebody on the crew into an alternate dimension.

I liked the child versions of Guinan and Ro.

I agree, but with the exception of kid Guinan, Ro, and Picard (Keiko scenes where just awkward), IMO kids just weren't kids in TNG.

Picard: Now Now Now Now... (priceless)

Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! :guffaw:

I enjoyed the scenes with child-Picard, but that high-pitched voice would really have been annoying week after week (not the kid's fault, I know).

Misread the title as "If Wesley was replaced by Nomad"

That would be cool, Nomad as a regular. Hey, didn't they create Worf just to show how the former enemies are now allies? So, Nomad.

Only question would be how Data would react to having another robot around.

That was what I saw at first! :)

I think Data'd have been the only anything left around. Goodbye biological infestations!

Data doesn't get jealous. They'd probably play poker and make fun of human faults.
