I'm still waiting for CBS to hire some of those good writers for Star Trek.
And you will be waiting forever, as I doubt there will ever be any good enough for you, IMO, based on your posts.
Would not be satisfied, because I've got a feeling it's about to get really good.
Even if season three is an absolute disaster, though, this doesn't feel like the endpoint of a story to me. I like it when things are reasonably wrapped up and conclusive. "Discovery disappeared into the future" is about on par with "Dr Sam Beckett never returned home" for an open-ended non-ending that's bound to piss me off.

I was not watching it, but I was also not passively-aggressively wishing it off the air either.
Heh, we had people with anti-Enterprise avatars for their entire stay here. The DSC arguments are fairly tame compared to some, I think most people don't have the energy for it anymore.

Hell, no. DSC finally has the latitude to live up to its potential now, instead of being shackled by prequel status.

Maybe if they end it and learn from their many mistakes, maybe they will overhaul it all and make a better series. Maybe a phonecall to Seth macfarlane...
And I think you will like anything that the writers will put out, doubtlessly, IMO, based on your posts.

I didn't think much of that crowd either, and I'm not even a fan of ENT.

FYI, if they decided to go the Orville route and revert the show back to 90s cut and paste nostalgia, I will guarantee you I will not be a happy camper, and it would drop it until I was convinced it had moved on again to something worth my time.

I've been watching since 1975. They make the same mistakes over and over (as has MacFarlane).
Pretty sure he's already making a Star Tresque series.
And appropriately, the ship in the series kind of reminds me of a pacifier

I already didn't come back for The Orville for the second season. If I want to watch Berman-Era Star Trek, I can go watch that any time I want. I don't need to see a recreation of it with Average Joes.
Feels like both forever and a fraction of a second at the same time.
