it would have been interesting to see something of the friendship that Sisko shared with Kurzon and also it would have been hysterical to witness the interaction between the male Dax and Worf.

Team Julian/Ezra, and Julian is revealed as bi.
The ninth host being male doesn't mean he'd be anything like Curzon, or that his relationship with Sisko would be anything similar, he could've been very introverted and taken after Tobin or been overwhelmed by Joran.
Had the new host been male Sisko would have become the mentor figure (like he was with Ezri), the role that Curzon had once been for him, whilst his friendship with Jadzia was more as peers.
I've thought before that this is absolutely the way you'd tell the story today. And it would be so good! Especially tracking that dynamic of Bashir initially becoming so attracted to Dax as a woman, but ultimately ending up with him as a man.
It could have been such a brilliant, ground-breaking story exploring both trans & bi issues. But the closest we actually got to that was "Profit & Lace", soooooo this writing team definitely wasn't equipped to see these particular possibilities...

Exactly, each new host was an entirely new interaction either way. Ezri made the transition easier to an extent to the crew, but it could easily have been any number of different hosts that would have challenged them in any number of ways.
Yep, they should have had that the Dax worm went into a person such and such who lives on Trill or wherever and just ended the character.
Or it could have gone as it did in TNG.

There are so many Dax threads going right now, all eerily similar to one another.
Yeah. But if resurrected female Johnathan still wanted to jump your bones and you just wanted shopping and skiing that just would work about as poorly as it usually does when two people want different things out of the relationship.
