If Star trek XII is about khan.....

Who should play Khan? To me the only actor out there that could be as good as the original is Antonio Banderas. I could definitely see him filling Ricardo Montalbans shoes.

I just dont know the Bollywood actors well enough to know if there are any great Indian actors who could nail it. I am sure there are, but I couldnt name any. I think they ought to look into that.

imo one of the great things about the Khan story was that the TOS story connected to the movie. Opportunities like that are as rare as Haley's comet.

Sure Antonio Banderas has potential but don't you think everyone would compare him harshly to Ricardo Montalban?

Personally I hope tptw don't ever go there 2 Kirks I can accept... 2 Khans, I dunno.

I've heard some talk about Javier Bardem.
I don't know...

If Khan is in the sequel and he's not at some point commanding the NuReliant,
with a half naked Marla McGivers at his feet, I am sooo totally boycotting.

I imagine it would be Space Seed than Wrath of Khan. A 'terrorist' taking over the Enterprise could make for an awesome movie. Well, better than Final Frontier at least.

Screw Wrath of Kahn! Honestly, if Kahn is in the new movie, why does it have to be him seeking revenge, Space Seed had no ideals on Vengeance and neither should a new film involving Kahn.

If a new film is made with Kahn, what I would like to see is Kahn being found on the maiden voyage of a State of the Art prototype ship, maybe another a new constellation class.

Kahn tricks the crew and takes over the ship and launches a campaign of terror against he Federation and it's up the Kirk and the Enterprise to stop them. The film would result in a battle of wits between Kahn and Kirk.

No revenge, it's been done like every second Star Trek film.

We've got a winner

Yes but I would like to add that this time can Kirk survive based on his skill instead of getting lucky when fighting Khan for once.

I'd only watch it if they have a feasible explanation for how the Botany Bay has been found earlier in this timeline (in the original it was 2267, and somehow I doubt we'll be getting to that era for a while yet).

I remember reading somewhere that the original idea for the story that became Wrath of Khan involved Khan forging an alliance of different races in opposition to the Federation with the aim of conquering the galaxy. I think that would be a good storyline.

That idea does have some interesting possibilities imo. If you recall where you read that at, id love to check it out.

This does in fact have some intrigue to it. It could be very plausible to find it early. Spock Prime has given Starfleet some insight into what is to be. Among that insight is a heads up on Kahn and the Botney Bay.

Then as someone suggested, a starfleet ship other than E finds the B.B. and winds up taken over by the homosuperiors. Now from there it can be the big E vs whatever ship Khan took over or it could be more wide spread with Khan amassing some sort of fleet before Starfleet can get to him. It does have possibilities.

Oh, and Tony would be a great NuKhan!

I reckon it would be cool if the next film centres around a new alliance making terrorist attacks against the Federation. The Enterprise under Kirk is assigned to deal with them. In the course of the film, our heroes are dealt massive blows by their enemies. As the film ends, the leader of the terrorist alliance is finally revealed to be Khan. The following film would detail how Khan was found by a starship sent by Starfleet under suggestion from Spock Prime, leading to him successfully taking it over and embarking on his current scheme.

I havent watched Space Seed in a while, but if memory serves me correctly Khans ambitions weren't particularly grandiose, or at least not when compared to the amibtions of other villains. Didn't he just want to use the Enterprise to take over a colony so he could rule his own little world? Hence why when he was offered the opportunity to colonize Ceti Alpha V he didn't object and was pretty much like "well...i guess that would be pretty cool". I hope they don't turn Khan into a moustache twirling bad guy, he never seemed to express any interest in conquering the Galaxy or destroying Earth etc...

There's a bit in Space Seed where Khan says to another Augment something along the lines of "It's not just a world we're trying to win now, it's a universe." Once he learned about all the civilizations in the galaxy, he would not have been able to resist trying to place his mark on as many of them as he could. It's in his genes.

Sounds good to me. After all, Khan was only super-pissed because he was marooned on Ceti-Alpha V, and his wife bought the farm, and "Space Seed" hasn't happened, technically speaking, anything can happen.

All that needs to happen is, from a writing point-of-view, the character of Khan would have to be faithful to what he was in Space Seed (with being mindful of what he is capable of becoming), and perhaps borrowing character traits of the books written about the Eugenics Wars - okay, I'm spitballing a little with the last bit, considering I have never read them. I guess, what can be said of Khan, is he is one of the "romantic" villians. A "Machiavellian". He should be treated as such. I found this about the traits of a Machiavellian Villain, and I think they - at least to me - sum up what I think of Khan as a character:

  1. "The end justifies the means"
  2. Totally convinced his ends are justified.
  3. Perverse enjoyment of evil for its own sake.
  4. Alienated; isolates self in own evil.
  5. Paranoid.
  6. Appears good.
  7. Intelligent; works from a master plan.
  8. Boastful; reveals plans in soliloquies.
  9. Great judge of character; uses weakness/strengths of victims.
  10. Resourceful; adjusts plan; uses agents.
  11. Maniacally obsessive and endlessly energetic in pursuit of goals.
  12. Unrepentant.
You can definitely see Khan in some, if not all of those traits.

Here's an idea. How about NO Khan in the sequel. Let's do something NEW, people!

Yeesh.
