I agree whoever said that the TV are usually better than the films. Can't find the exact post. Anything past 'TVH' for me with the exception of maybe 'FC' the best and most popular of the TNG films.

The Godfather has an all time great score as well so it doesn't need to be improved in that regard anyway.

That's in general. As far as Trek: TMP-TUC and FC are basically the Star Trek movies to me.
I view GEN, INS, and NEM as, "It's a mess, but it's our mess!" if that makes sense.

I admit I have not seen 'TUC' yet. I have heard mixed reviews.
TUC is my favorite film in Trek. It's quintessential Trek to me.
Trek works best as a TV series franchise with many long 1-hour episodes IMO and longer amount of Episodes per season.
It's not without its flaws, and very much of its time, but I still consider it one of the better ones.
