If none of you tears up when Sun & Jin reunite,...

Right before they can reunite, Desmond shows up and kills one of them, then says, "You're not topping me and Penny!"

I really like the two of them. Especially Jin. He was such a dick in the beginning. The Island was probably the best thing to happen to them, moreso than any of the other survivors. Nothing against Desmond and Penny, but Sun and Jin were there since Episode 1.

...if they reunite.

That is true. It would be a gutsy, and gut wrenching, move on TPTB. But I think with the glut of brilliant shows with compelling douchebags of the past few years (The Wire, The Shield, Mad Men, Dexter, Sons Of Anarchy, BSG), LOST may go against the grain and offer a bit of genuine happiness between two decent people. There's enough cynicism out there as it is.

Sun just became so unlikeable in Season 5. They tried to turn her into this huge badass as a result of Jin's death, but it just doesn't work for me. Then her whole time back on the Island in Season 5 was pretty much a waste. All she did was stand around while Locke and Ben had their weird adventures.

That's exactly my problem. The whole storyline with Widmore which I found intriguing just sort of....stopped and she's been a glorified extra since Dead is Dead.

Sun and Jin have somehow become background characters and I have lost interest in them. Hopefully Lapidus will step to the forefront and go all Lawnmower Man on Smokey.

^

That was funny...

I hope they bring in Widmore and Sun into the story with this ep.

It'll be interesting to know if Sun and Jin are married in the flash-sideways universe or not. (Since she was called Ms. Paik and not Ms. Kwon by the airport security officer)

The thing is that the flash-sideways universe forks from the normal Lost timeline somewhere earlier. For all we know, Sun and Jin are running away from her father planning to get married and settle down in LA.

Also in the current Lost Timeline we haven't seen what is going on in the outside world - is it the world from the flash-sideways timeline that exists outside the island (since "it worked"? )

It didn't work for me either, but my take it that it wasn't the failure of the writers and/or the actor, but a failed attempt by the character to be something she wasn't. She was trying to be more like her father, when it really wasn't her nature.

Speaking of Jin and Sun reuniting, asyone remember that "spoiler" from last season's spoiler thread that never happened? At the end of the season, Sun was going to be taken to a cave, and out would come an old man -- Jin, who had been waiting there for her since the 70s. Gotta love fake spoilers.

It totally depends on how they reunite. The way things have been going, it could possibly not be a touching scene. Crazy Claire could turn on Jin or Sun and make it a West Side Story kind of reunite. Which would make me not shed a tear; I'd be mad. I expect some kind of payoff for at least one couple on this island.

Since someone in the sideways universe called Sun by her maiden name, they may not be fated to be together.

Maybe Sun and Jin are the two people we saw in Season 1, in the cave, with the stones
