If LD gets a sequel spin off, I have a concern

If, and when it happens and it continues into the upcoming year of 2385. You know what happened on First Contact Day, from the flashbacks in Picard Season 1.

I'm concerned about what will happen with Mariner. I don't want her faith in Starfleet to be dashed once again and she returns to her old chaotic, self destructive self.

As much as I contemplate how the other Cerritos crew and the Warp Core Five are going to handle this turn of events, what happens with Mariner concerns me the most.

I used to be sad at the fact that the Picard backstory comes right after Lower Decks and Prodigy because I didnt like it, but now after seeing the ending of Prodigy Im more sad that we didnt see the shows end up in the middle of it since they'd have probably improve it retroatively.

She'd have a little crisis over it, but then she'd get over it.
I don’t think you have anything to worry about, as LD isn’t getting a spinoff.
Hey it's doubtful, but never say never. Never expected a Next Gen sequel series. We got Very Short Treks, which boggles the mind in every way. I just saw a live action Exocomp at Starfleet Academy. Literally anything can happen.

The reason being I'm concerned is Mariner became my fav character of the Warp Core Five and my fav of the series. Hearing her backstory, of wanting to explore space, but the dead of her close friend Sito and partaking in the Dominion War, I developed much sympathy for her.

Ever since making peace with it, I was afraid the Mars incident plus fallout, would cause some form of relapse. I mean Mariner is tough, but she's also fragile.

I just don't want to see her get hurt again and lose faith in Starfleet.

Considering Mariner eventually makes it to Commander, per the Starfleet Academy Memorial Wall, I'd say things turn out okay for her.

Unless it's, "Mariner was promoted to Commander and then the very next day she was hollowed out by Argorian Brain Moths."
;)
