If Disney were to buy Star Ttrek

The only sense that matters is they were films called "Star Trek" by the people who own Star Trek.

Semantics??? Should I have said spirit of what Trek is? For example, in many ways Farscape and SG-1 were shows done in the spirit of Star Trek referring to the themes and tone of the show. Abrams does Trek that is very much in the spirit of a generic action movie.

Good lord, we already have an tire subforum for this sort of gab. Is there no peace for our time to be had?!
Link? I have some questions about tread wear.

I think this refers to the future of Trek forum, where this thread will probably be moved.

The problem with that of course is that neither was a Star Trek film in any sense that mattered.
They said that about TNG in 1987.

In 1987, it wasn't. Where I lived in Canada, it was airing with Saturday morning cartoons until New Year. The series found its footing in the second half of the season and even Encounter at Farpoint seems more Star Trekky in retrospect.

Impossible, as I didn't like SG-1 or Farscape.

So my questions about tread wear have no place to call home? Disappointing

I think if Disney were to somehow buy Trek they'd do the exact same thing that CBS is currently doing with it now (mainly using it for licensing to other companies) and concentrate more on producing new Star Wars instead.

We are even then. ;)
