If Archer had had a reoccuring lover, what species was she?

Of all the known species, including human, from a story telling perspective what background origin would some hypothetical girlfriend have had that you think Archer would have bedded and kept around who we would have found entertaining and the writers wouldn't have given up on?

I think it's an interesting twist to how we see his life begin, calling someone "Admiral Pointy Ears." Through the time he's captain of Enterprise, you can feel his exasperation with many Vulcans, and it shows by the end of season two when he makes a Vulcan-like decision about the Cogenitor how full circle he has become.

The Vulcan he's involved with should be Vulcan though -- non-emotional and logical. I think that would add another interesting writing layer to his character; Archer is sometimes logical and reasonable and sometimes relies on his emotions to make a decision. And assuming Vulcans don't rush into things (being slow to change and long-lived enough to experience life for a long time), I think it shouldn't be as a "lover," but more as a relationship ... possibly at the end of Enterprise.

I think it would also quite elegantly summarize why the Vulcans and humans are such good friends in TOS with Kirk and Spock, for example.

Archer's love interest from 'The Expanse' got left on the cutting room floor... then there was Erika Hernandez, skipper of the NX-02. Without going too far down that 'shipper road, the Vulcan idea has much appeal. Making it T'Pol has shades of Sheridan and Delenn from Babylon 5 for me though...

Who says it has to be a female ?
It can at any future point after his assignment on the NX-01 end up with Archer having a male lover.

It would be interesting if anything, plus no one said he wasn't bisexual.
The friendship vibe between himself and Trip for example in the first two seasons, plus the looks we got in one episode during a water polo game had a 'more than friendship' vibe.

After all, there was 0 mentioning of a spouse or a partner of any kind (even in the Defiants database).

As for him and T'Pol.
Hm ... nope ... still don't see it.
I always had the notion Archer would probably never see her as more than a friend (even after Trips death).

I think it's possible his love interest could be of practically any species/gender.

In twilight he was dumped at the age of 26 by Margaret who said she didn't want to be a Starfleet widow, there as caroline who sent him into a terrible drunken bender which Ruby mentioned in first flight, Porthos was from a litter of puppies which belonged to the mother of an ex girlfriend. Then Erika.

plenty of women.

Though he did *&^% G'Kar when they went for a romantic two day tour in that tiny one room so;ar bathysphere.

Female: 1. a wild fling with Feezil Phlox, 2. he settles down with Ruby, who KNOWS how to keep naughty officers in line

Male: 1. Shran (who, btw, IS bisexual and ultimately marries Jhamel), 2. Archer and Soval get drunk together and "compare katras" Jon tells him Vulcans and Andorians have more in common than either species realizes.

Um. No. He's trisexual, unless he's also interested in his own gender and then he's quadrasexual. Although sniffing at what Jhamel has to offer is as bordering on bestiality as any one trying to mate outside their species.

What species was the woman he married in E2?

Might have been interesting if they made a trip to the Expanse and he met the great grand daughter of (woman from E2, maybe even Tess Lina) and they had a relationship.

Maybe a little to weird, though.

A relationship with a vulcan would be an exhausting love/hate relationship with lots of arguing and make up sex.I found his relationship with Captain Hernandez to be interesting because she was one of the few people who had known him before he was a captain and was just as strong willed as he was.
I think it would be awesome if he had gotten together with that klingon woman from that episode where they find that klingon ship in the gas giant.
