If a Facehugger impregnated a gerbil...?

Awesome

Could it happen? What if a Facehugger impregnated a small, cute, fluffy animal? A kitten? A bunny?

How would that affect the gestating Xenomorph inside? Would it grow to be full-sized? Would it hop around? Would it be covered in fur?

What about something massive? Could a Facehugger impregnate a whale? Or an elephant?

:wtf:

Actually, it was just a post that I thought might warrant some fun speculation. God forbid we have a sense of humor.

You're right - fun speculation. I would think that the chest-burster would be quite small. With big ears.

Wasn't there dialogue which implied that facehuggers can't use any animal smaller than a dog or larger than a human?

Funny. I knew I had just read this..

from Wikipedia

In the Alien 3 novelization, Ripley commented that this parasitoid would not likely be able to use a host any smaller than a cat, or as large as an elephant.

So, No. But what does Ripley know anyway.

Hmmmm.... I think it would have the same skin/ exoskeleton appearance, with teeth and claws etc. But would walk like a fast gerbil and probably wouldn't grow much bigger than a smallish dog.

Okay, so let's say it uses a cat. I would presume that the full-grown xenokitty would be smaller than a full-grown xenohuman or xenoSpaceJockey. Maybe the xenokitty would lay smaller eggs with smaller facehuggers that could in turn impregnate smaller things?

Likewise, maybe a facehugger could impregnate a cow or a horse? Then Xenohorsey could lay bigger eggs and impregnate bigger things, eventually working its way up to elephants and giraffes.

You're asking the wrong question!

What if a Facehugger impregnated a T-Rex???

To answer your original question, the kitten/Facehugger hybrid would look like this.

Or possibly this.

Maybe Facehuggers were around 65 million years ago and they were impregnating dinos and creating horrific creatures the likes of which the universe had never seen!!!

The asteroid was no accident. It was sent the Green Lanterns of 65 million years ago, wiping out this nightmare hybrid species and making the galaxy safe for humanoids.

See, writing original sci if is easy. I'll bet nobody's ever thought of any of that shit before and it took me 20 seconds. :rommie: What's Hollywood's problem?

Instead they just remake shit. Now they're remaking Beetlejuice! Where will the horror end?

When I first saw Alien in the theater, I thought when the ending showed Ripley and the cat in the cryotube that the cat WAS probably incubating an egg, waiting for a sequel. I thought that a sequel would have a xenomorph loose on Earth after they got back.
