Action Force was known in the U.S. as the short lived G.I.JOE: European Missions. though it was published by Marvel in the U.S. I don't know if it was part of the main continuity. I only picked up the first issue at the time and don't even remember the story.

The original Cobra Civil War in the Marvel run was one of my favorite stories. Mostly because it got rid of Serpentor who I couldn't stand. (Team Cobra Commander here!)

well serpentor is in the new run but nothing like the old predessor from marvel.
in this series he's more of religous figure than military. I never really read the marvel
series at the time bigger transformers fan and still am. When idw picked up g.i. joe I thought it would be fun to read it. now they all so seem to be a story arc with the
original marvel run picking up where it left off.

They or rather Dixon is doing a rather bad job of selling most of these candidates as successors to CC. Gage and Costa are doing a better job with the Baroness.

on cobra issue #1 cover a it says I am vargas I am cobra commander. now my question is a two part question. one who is vargas and was he ever in the marvel or ddp runs?

Probably showing my age but does anyone remember when Action Force fought Cobra (and before that Baron Ironblood and his Red Shadows?)

I used to get Action Force Weekly back in the 80s from a local (I'm in Texas) comic book shop. I loved the way the British writers used Destro. He was so evil. Even running their stories alongside reprints of Larry Hama's stuff totally changed the characters I already knew. I think British Flint is my favorite version of the character. I swear the guy could chew nails and kill bad guys by spitting them out.

The original strip featuring Red Shadows didn't run in US papers IIRC. I have however seen them online somewhere.

idw transformers title is going bi monthly and it looks like the heart of darkness is the last the mini series of the year. and now we have break to july for the last four episodes of the first season.

To be fair, i watched the first 4 episodes of the Transformers Hub series and just couldn't get into it. Did the plot line evolve into something more?

G.I. Joe Renegades however hooked me from the first episode and I'm amazed how good it's been thus far.

Transformers Prime has gotten pretty good. It's not as good as Animated, but the first three episodes were the weakest so far. They've got a pretty solid story arc going with Megatron and his plans, and they're doing a sufficient job of balancing that with self-contained stories in each episode to keep me entertained.

Plus, hey, Peter Cullen as Optimus. Worth the price of admission on its own.
