IDW announces Doctor Who/TNG crossover

Boundaries? We don't need no boundaries! After all, IDW also has the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle license for crossover fodder.

Playmates already took care of a Trek/Ninja Turtles crossover back in the nineties. Check it out

I collected Playmates' Star Trek stuff in the '90s, but I just couldn't muster the will to get those. I just couldn't do it.

I will, however, get the Doctor Who/ST TNG crossover.

I collected Playmates' Star Trek stuff in the '90s, but I just couldn't muster the will to get those. I just couldn't do it.

I tried to order these, mail order, but the Spock and Kirk had sold out, and I only received the McCoy and Scotty turtles. Nothing worse than an incomplete set. I eventually found a set of four that had to be sold as a set, so suddenly I had two turtles' worth of Trekkie spare parts.

Although I've never found the time to assemble her, I later bought the then-new, suddenly-controversial, female Ninja Turtle, Venus - with plans to customize her as "Venus as Yeoman Janice Rand", complete with blonde beehive. One day...

From Bleeding Cool:

IDW are to publish a Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover series. Featuring The Doctor, Rory, Amy, Captain Picard, Worf, Data, Geordie LaForge, Deanna Troy, Will Riker and the rest. And that this art, featuring the Doctor, Rory and Amy on the bridge of the Enterprise is a cover that will be used in the series.

After giving it some thought I have decided this may not be such a bad thing after all. I just worry that two of my favorite series will get the shaft if this project is not designed and written right. But I am now willing to give it a try. Maybe as a trade paperback as I dont usually buy single issues of comic books anymore.

^ The worst that can happen is that you, or the rest of us, don't like the comic and you've wasted the price of it (which admittedly in the current economic climate is a factor).

At the end of the day, if the comic sucks, it's not going to affect the current Doctor Who series or the Trek movies (and TNG is moribound anyway). At worst, it'll be a wasted opportunity. Most of the general audience who watch DW on tv or will go to see the next JJ Abrams Trek movie wil have no idea that this comic has even been written, so neither series will get shafted.

Well, actually that 2 is supposed to be an exponent, read "Assimilation Squared." Is there a way to do superscripts with this board software, or should we write it as Assimilation^2?
