You think I'm being facetious, but the pitiful fact of it is that I'm not. With all these news snippets about T'Pol showing more skin next season and she and Archer sharing a kiss (and possibly doing the horizontal mambo) why am I not all a twitter with titillation? I'm a hetero gal. I should enjoy watching a hetero couple getting all sweaty, yet I'm not. There's something seriously wrong with your supposedly golden couple's chemistry when the idea of the captain and the chief engineer making out has more sex appeal. I've always maintained that Archer and Tucker seem like brothers (and they do for the most part) but the hoyay does sneak out and grab you with those two. I swear to God they were flirting with each other after returning from shoreleave in the beginning of "Bounty" in those fetching tan outfits. Trip was blushing like they'd had make up sex to get over their rift in "Cogenitor." :p

It's blatant enough to make me wonder if SB and CT are doing a Julian/Garak dynamic on purpose. Doesn't whatshisname say at conventions that he played Garak as being attracted to Julian on purpose? Maybe Scott and Connor are just that wicked. Roxanne Dawson's direction always does bring out the vibes between those two. They were sexier having a hockey date than Archer and T'Pol were greasing each other up in his decon dreams.

So why are Archer and Trip giving off more potent sexual vibes than Archer and T'Pol? Somebody answer me this. It's not a rhetorical question. Why is the thought of Archer consoling a grief stricken Trip next season and chastising him over his desire for vengeance more exciting than the thought of Archer sticking his tongue in T'Pol's navel?

Why must Archer and T'Pol sleep with each other? Somebody give me an answer. Please. :D The thought of them taking a roll in the hay makes me want to count sheep. The thought of Archer and Trip rubbing decon gel all over each others' lovely shoulders makes me want to mix a martini and give my husband the bedroom eye. Hell, at least fans would have something to applaud Trek for on principle if somebody listened to my idea. :p :p

Do you think Archer and T'Pol will be married by series' end?

Naaaaah, usually it's Trip and Reed making out. ;) Sometimes it's Trip and Hoshi making out, depending on my mood. :D It's never Archer and T'Pol making out, though. One of life's mysteries. Funny, that.

I'm not sure, timmy84. They said she's getting a new catsuit. Maybe it's a two piece. The Realist should be happy.

In lieu of a two piece catsuit I can think of a few ways: even skimpier pajamas, she and Archer hitting the sheets, T'Pol being put in even more degrading situations than pathogen induced Pon Farr. The list goes on, but I would not put it past Paramount to try and put her in a two piece catsuit. They can always think of ways to get T'Pol nearly naked.

It's unclear whether this is some new plot development or something from ANIS that this guy in the article here got confused about: http://www.trektoday.com/news/170503_01.shtml

 I was so caught up in watching the episode that I completely missed this interpretation! Either that, or I've been watching too much Queer As Folk and it was too subtle for poor old me... :)

How about all of the above?

Maybe, but with both that Kansas paper and TV Guide now reporting the same thing? Seems like it might have been part of the actual presentation rather than an isolated misinterpretation.

Actually she's going to be wearing full-length Vulcan dress robes, made out of see-through plastic. With nothing underneath them. The Vulcan eye, you see, is polarized to handle radiation from the Vulcan sun. Because of this they can't percieve the frequencies of light that pass through the plastic, and so T'Pol doesn't realize that her outfit is transparent to humans. Ever.

Section 31 covers her up though

A little note - human clothes are also transparent to Vulcans. Our pointy-eared allies can see frequencies of light that pass clean through terran fabrics. This is why Soval and T'Pol are so "illogical" and emotional compared to other Vulcans - they are constantly aware of what Archer's anatomy is doing down there. That's enough to throw anyone's mental discipline into a spin.

The Realist, you must be one happy hornball, my man. Well, I'm happy for you. You're so unabashedly unapologetic. You're probably going to get your wish. I would not put it past the killer B's to try to dress T'Pol like mirror universe Uhura in "Mirror, Mirror." Walter Sochack, your dreams of transparent robes may be denied you because of those puritannical censors, but take heart. I'm sure you'll have plenty more decon scenes to keep you happy. It's a straight man's paradise, ENT is. ;)

Worf999, one can only hope it's a misinterpretation of ANIS clips being shown at the preview but with TV Guide jumping on the bandwagon and Morpheus not willing to nix it, only saying he can't talk about it at this time because nothing is "set in stone," makes me think that serious thought and preparation is being given to Archer/T'Pol. Supposedly she's defying the Vulcan High Command for the entire crew to avenge this attack, but I suspect the implied spin will be that she's doing it for Jon.

Toronto Trekker!! You of all people missed that flirting going on at the beginning of "Bounty"? You're slipping, my friend. It was so obvious. We had makeup sex on the surface. Yea! for us. :p :pI don't have Showtime. I have to wait for QAF tapes from my friend. Have Justin and Brian gotten back together yet? They're hotter than Louisiana on a scorching hot summer day.

You know, in the light of day I expected to realize how silly my post was.....but I still can't muster any good natured horny enthusiasm for Archer and T'Pol and have dreams of well sculpted male shoulders slathering up in decon instead. ;) Blander than vanilla pudding, Jon and T'Pol are. I just don't get what TPTB see in them. It might be fun to watch her seduce the straight laced, pensive Mr. Reed, though. God, he wanted her bad when she was in the throes. Now there's a hot pairing waiting to explode but no dice. Sob.

Well, at my advanced age I'm secure enough in my masculinity to survive something like this should it occur. But other than the shock value, I just don't see how it would significantly advance the Star Trek saga, especially in this era.

And as a Mod, I certainly don't want to deal with the inevitable "First Captain of the Enterprise was Gay" threads (pro or con) which would crop up after such an event.

Calm down people. The writers haven't said ANYTHING about sexing up ENT. This has only come from poorly informed speculation. T'Pol getting a new suit is the only thing confirmed. Go back and actually read the article this info came from. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Archer gay? Now that is never going to happen, not in a millennium. Who ever wrote such a script would stripped nekked and hung out to dry. :D :D :D

Re: I'd rather watch Jon and Trip make out next ye

Maybe the writers haven't, but I maintain that Berman and Braga ALWAYS meant to have Archer and T'Pol get it on. The signs are all there. That's why they tabled the obvious sexual chemistry that was starting to develop between Trip and T'Pol early in Season One. That's why we haven't seen that woman Archer spent time on Risa with reappear. That's why the whole Rebecca subplot from The Expanse got canned. That's why T'Pol didn't get it on with anyone else in Bounty. And that's why she's being forced into a position where she'll have to resign her commission with the Vulcan High Command. Without her commission, she's technically a civilian. That last scene in A Night in Sickbay is starting to make a lot more sense now, isn't it? The whole, "Then it is fortunate that we are not in a position to act on those feelings" statement. Gee... all of a sudden in Season Three, they WILL be in such a position. And you know that's damn well what B&B have wanted all along. Sex = ratings. Sexy Vulcan = ratings opportunity.

I'm not at all opposed to relationships on Star Trek. But they have to make sense. And B&B have a long history of forcing relationships on Star Trek that make no sense whatsoever. Hell, Voyager got so bad it was like watching The Love Boat some episodes. Everyone had forced sexual tension with everyone else on that show at one point or another, and hardly any of it stuck or made sense! The one relationship that DID make real sense in Trek history, Riker and Troi, B&B waited so long to take advantage of (in Nemesis) that people had finally stopped caring. And WTF was that whole Worf/Troi thing anyway?!

Can anyone seriously tell me bed swapping and forced sexual tension is why they watch Star Trek? Not me. I watch it for great sci-fi. And there's been damn little of that on Enterprise thus far.

Archer/T'Pol makes no sense to me. Here we're supposed to believe T'Pol admires Archer as a captain, when he's obviously set so bad an example for his crew that Trip goes of half-cocked in Cogenitor, then says, "I was only doing what I thought you'd do, Captain!" And damnit, he's right! Hell, right from the first time they met, as seen in First Flight, Archer was pulling Trip into some situation where we was breaking the rules. And we're to expect T'Pol, a logical Vulcan, admires this guy? Who brings his dog inappropriate places and makes smarmy chromasome swapping comments? Enough to want him sexually? Ugh! If Archer/T'Pol happens, I just soooooooo done with Enterprise.

Break out the giant robot... this planet has crossed the line! ;-)

Unfortunately this makes a great deal of sense to me. I've been thinking of that last scene in ANIS myself. Vanilla pudding, vanilla pudding. Anyone for some vanilla pudding? ;)
