I wish voyager had gotten home in the season 5 finale

ok we were teased with the concept of a new starfleet ship being sent out there and it was a hoax
i liked that episode for the most part
i remember really hoping that they'd get home
deep space nine was ending, i think it would've made perfect sense getting back to the alpha quadrant, showing how things went post dominion war, could've had tng/ds9 guest stars
voyager season 6 and 7 were pretty bad....perhaps voyager's worst (of course there were some great, some good, some eh and most lousy)
i personally liked voy 1-4 the most, thought it was a huge decline after that

anyway i would've LOVED to have seen voyager home, we could've spent a couple episodes with a return home cermony, maquis crews getting actual comissions, etc
i would've loved it, and i think it would've saved the show and brought more intrest to it

anyone agree?

Voyager was about the journey, not about being on one planet. Making Voyager more like DS9 would have been disaster.

And TNG/DS9 guest stars? You are got to be kidding me. Troi and Reg were more than enough.

i dont necesarilly mean to make it more like ds9
i dont meant to make it darker and about the war (ds9 is my favorite)
it could come back and still have good writing, good explorations and assignments
touch on the war of course


i dunno i would've LOVED it...see some post returning home stuff, some them in grey uniforms, i felt like the voyager finale wasnt the closure i wanted (ya they got home but.........what else?)

How would it have been like TNG if they had been on Earth for two seasons? Them exploring the AQ would have been 'meh'. Delta Quadrant was their thing.

But we are definitely in agreement when it comes to the finale - it was not the closure I appreciated either. And grey uniforms would have been wonderful. They should have changed them in later seasons, after they got the data stream connection to AQ.

Nooooooo!!!!!! I take comfort from the fact that Homecoming, Farther Shore, Before Dishonour and Full Circle are not 'Canon' .... not that it makes any difference really since we're not going to get anything on TV and Paramount approved it anyway but even so, i'm really glad they were just books and the writers didn't get a chance to 'officially' screw everything up!

I can live with C/7 having had a few dates at the end of the series, anything could then happen, they didn't have time to get serious it was still at 'fling' stage. And as I've said before I wouldn't care if they did if Janeway was happy elsewhere ie not assimilated then dead.....

Yeah, that would have been interesting. Made for TV (err cable) movies were done relatively well for Stargate. Could have been done for Voy and DS9 as well. Missed opportunity.

I think that they definately should've changed to grey. They changed the fricken Tricorders & Phasers to the newer more sleek look.

It really pissed me off when they went all the way through in the sane uniforms.

I think the end of season 5 would have been too early. I would prefer the end of season 6. Then the last season could deal with with 7 getting used to earth and people's reactions to her being a drone.

The Doctor could have a storyline about whether he was sentient or not and whether he would be allowed to keep the mobile emitter.

I would have loved to have seen a 2 or 3 episode storyline about Janeway on trial for some of the actions she took in the Delta quadrant.

Fallout from the Dominion War and the deaths of the Maquis could be donw through BLT and Chuckles.

Those are just a few ideas. More action would be needed, but those are all things that I would have liked to see.
