I want to get into Star Trek Comics but not sure where to start.

Well I like comics and the last Star Trek Book I got was one of the Archives books The Mirror Universe book.

That's got me intrigued I got a copy of the Malibu Deep Space Nine #1 comic and I enjoyed that.

So now I want to get into the comic series so can anyone help me out as to what's possibly worth getting?

Yes, get the DVD collection. Then you can explore them on your own, and seach out the print editions.

One of my favorites so far (I haven't read much outside the current IDW titles and the old Gold Key ones) is the Early Voyages about Pike.

Not on the DVD and quite good (at least IMO, some loathe it) was Countdown. It's a massively expanded version of Old Spock's mindmeld with Kirk in STXI, with a reunion of the (mostly retired) TNG crew. Romulus dies. Nero goes mad. Suitably epic.
