I think my girlfriend is a Christian! Advice needed.

No no no! The season 4 finale was a perfectly good send-off for the show, a bit predictable perhaps but it rewarded loyal viewers who had been suspecting the shocking twist since the first season. But now they're bringing the show back while ignoring the repercussions of the finale? What the hell is wrong with Hollywood?

My current theology is that we are all deluded. Seriously how the fuck can anyone know anything for sure? This is a comforting thought. It means you don't have to be right and she doesn't have to be wrong. It's only the application of belief systems that will cause a clash. I think you should try and work out how her faith is applied to her life in ways you couldn't possibly live with. Those are the issues, not the faith itself.

Let's just be honest here and say it all comes down to what everything boils down to... sex

Will you still be able to sleep with her? Or is she proper a hardcore Jebus fan that you won't even get a looksee until after you've both walked down the aisle?

If it's the latter... hmm...

Interesting. But what about those of us who say "how can we know anything for sure"? Is that a form of delusion as well?

Yep because I may well be deluded that it is impossible to know anything for sure. For all I know some weird ass cult may be completely correct in every jot and tiddle.

But then that cult wouldn't be deluded and your premise would fail.

I think you created a paradox!

But I can't know for sure...

I'll admit I'm no great expert when it comes to relationships but what difference does it make about her religious beliefs? They're her beliefs if you respect her, then respect her right to believe in God.

People with differeing viewpoints can work just fine, in US terms it's like saying "I think my Boy/girlfriend is a democrat/republican (delete as appropriate).

Not if one or both are compelled to try and change the others mind. If she thinks he's going to hell and he thinks she is seriously deluded it's not going to work.

Wait wait wait, that's not fair.... all my ex-girlfriends think I'm going to hell and I know for a fact they're all seriously deluded.

I'm Methodist, my fiancee is Buddhist. We're just fine, and actually enjoy the fact that we have different ideas on certain things. I see no reason for people to not be together based on religion.

Unless one of those people is MadBaggins. That's a whole different story.

Ah, excellent, I'm sitting comfortably and getting ready for a gala performance. Do not disappoint me, O Great Baggins!

Oh yeah, different religions make a relationship impossible. Also different dietary restrictions, different taste in music, different favorite colors. These are all recipes for disaster.
