I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

I hope nobody laughs this idea to death, but one thing I loved about "SPACE: 1999" is the ability of the Eagle class spacecraft to "dock" with other ships, especially each other, even while still in flight. Another thing I loved was the modularity of the Eagles; the command module could break off and become its own ship.

I'm wondering if there isn't some design that would allow Federation Starfleet shuttles/runabouts to both (1: have sides of passenger compartments exposed so that the ships could dock in space/flight, and (2: have a more modular design so that sections could be jettisoned/replaced for mission-specific reasons.

One idea I've never seen explored in trek is the notion of a shuttle's nacelles being oriented like the Stargazer: one on top, one on the bottom, only long and thin so they span the length of the ship. Another idea would be if the nacelles were closely integrated into an aft compartment, with forward compartments for command/personnel/cargo.

Does any of this make sense?

The smell craft you described already exists it is the Danube class runabout if you do not belive this check the Deep Space 9 technical manual

Here is thenext detailed sketch idea for the Armstrong.
This on is based off of the upper left shuttle from my previous
set of mini sketches.

Looks great. Reminds of how the Argo was made to resemble a runabout/shuttle as well. Seems like Starfleet doesn't want a whole fleet of different classes of runabouts.

Nice Shuttle :D and when can we see the Federation / Starfleet One ?

p.s All of your art is great

After watching Odyssey the other night, I realized now I can't wait for the next series about the Federation One. I hope it turns out being good. Plus I can't wait to see more images of the ship and anythng else that comes along.

Here is the latest addition to my Dark Mirror Fleet.
She is the I.S.S. Cougar a heavy frigate. I have also included
a Imperial Fleet Size chart.

Enjoy

I know it has been a long Time since I did any up date on the I.S.S. Icarus, but lately I have been getting requests to finish her. So here
she is with a finished front view.

It would be interesting to see what the primary universe counterparts of these vessels would look like, same as we saw with the Titan and Ares!

Very cool, love the uniform patch.

As for Epsilon IX's thought on the primary universe counterpart, the weapons pods on this one (Icarus) would in my way of thinking (which is warpped anyway) would be interchangeable weapons/sensor pods like the Nebula Class.
