I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

^^^ I don't think it would have mattered. IIRC, if you have a checking account or credit card hooked up to PayPal it will pull the money out of that linked account. If you don't have a linked payment account (don't think this is even possible, actually), then you would have a negative balance that would be filled up whenever you received money into PayPal at a later time. Either way, you loose. Definitely sounds like she pulled a fast one. Sorry to hear about that, Sean. It's always a sad affair when someone doesn't pay up for delivered work.

:brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: What pisses me off is that she paid initially and once I delivered the final art she pulled the money. Really Low if you ask me. :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

Agreed. If she didn't like what you did and asked for the payment back it would be one thing, but waiting to receive the high-res files you made for her, pulling the cash and then coming up with some obviously B.S. excuse blaming it on the bank takes it to a whole different level of unethical. This sounds like a simple case of getting something for free.

I haven't run into this particular issue myself (although I have been stiffed on invoices for my work in the past and I definitely know what you're experiencing here), however PayPal does have a "Resolution Center" where you can dispute a transaction. If all your interactions with this woman are via email, you have an active paper trail that you can use to prove your case and maybe get some recompense. Don't know if it will work, but there is that option. Give it a whirl and see what shakes loose. Good luck and let us know what happens. I am genuinely curious to see if it works...

Well it looks like it is time for me to dust off my starship designing tools. I am planning on entering the Design The Next Enterprise contest that STO will be holding. I don't know if I can get lightening to strike twice, but it is worth a shot. Sketch book is ready to sketch out designs. Good luck to everyone else that is planning on entering. Can't wait to see what people will come up with.

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

One question, does anyone else think that the Mirror Titan would have same level of bio-diversity amongst her crew complement as the Primary Universe Titan?

In an attempt to answer my own question, I would say yes it would. My guess would be that, as much as being a ship sent to seek out and conquer new worlds and enslave their populations, Titan's mission would be a propaganda campaign of sorts. I imagine that a lot of the races represented aboard the ship would have been conquered and enslaved, as opposed to joining the Empire of their own accord, and the mission would be a way to show off the success rate of the re-education centres (it's my belief that subjugated races would be subject to re-education upon conquest), especially since some of the races would only recently have been conquered, as well as being that a fair number are quasi and non-humanoid, they would therefore have been tougher nuts to crack.

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

That and a extensive "Reeducation" program, and the Agonizer would be implanted internally so that the Terran Overseers would have greater control over their subjects.

While creating my official entry into Cryptic's Design The Next Enterprise Contest I was building a alternate design just in case
I could enter more than once. The U.S.S. Venture is that design. While very similar to my NCC-1701-F entry this design has a
totally different saucer and Impulse deck. Both designs incorporated the Aventines' Slipstream Tech.

I plan on making my Dark Mirror Universe Counterpart soon. In the mean time if you want to see my Enterprise design as the Next Enterprise please
go to Cryptics' site and vote for me. Here is the Link. http://www.startrekonline.com/enterprise/gallery?filter=search&keyword=sean

Damn nice work as usual, Sean! You never cease to amaze me with your designs.

2 questions: Is "Venture" the class name or is there an NCC-91700 class-ship out there? Also, what type of classification would this ship fall within? I'm thinking Cruiser or Heavy Cruiser based on the configuration, but I figured you would know better. :D

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

Here is my next Federation Starship and it's Evil Sister the Hestia.
This is another take off for the Design The Next Enterprise Design I created.
I really Wish I could of enter more than one design, but rules are rules so this becomes
just another ship in my fleet.

I created this on without the hammerhead element and adjusted the size of the Impulse Deck
as well as modifying the Nacelles just a little.

Enjoy.

The grid highlights that your side and top/bottom views aren't quite consistent.

ISSSPARTAN.jpg

Back in 2009 I started up sketches and even a early vector image for a Starship called the Spartan. At the time I was a little burned out with starship so I never completed it.
Well with the Design the Enterprise contest come renewed energy when it comes to starship design, so I decided I would finally finish the Spartan. So here she is.
She is a Imperial Heavy Cruiser built to take a pounding if she had to. Heavy armor and Plenty of Weapons. With the Spartan I gave her a bigger Impulse Deck for
Sublight warfare.
She is the first of her class and that class is called the Sparta class.
And Yes with the registry and name I did get the idea from Frank Miller’s 300

Sorry it took a while to finish this design.

Re: I.S.S. Titan & I.S.S. Ares

I love these designs. I do have a question and apologize if it has been brought up and answered already but is there any chance of a story accompanied with your art in the near future? I trust that you must have your own Alternate Mirror Universe story as the basis for the designs of the ships and characters. I'd be interested in reading it if it is ever written.
