I RESIGN

The reason that I resign from this message board is simple, as PKTrekGirl wish to make moderator statements in public then in a private PM statement. The incident was in the tread called “Need model willing to play half Vulcan for Dominion War Blog” and I know it was spam. Since the person in question is an Ensign that cannot PM members I felt it would be pointless to send her a PM telling her so. What I wanted to inform her that to ask someone to do something for free you get nothing in return. There have been a number of times people are willing to help someone if and only if they get a return of a reward. As people are willing to make avatars for each other, in the feeling that they are going to get something back in return.

Some reason PKTrekGirl felt I was selling myself. My point was clear to the poster that I was not going to give anything or to accept anything. Some reason PKTrekGirl jumped to the wrong idea, and I can understand her views that I could have been acting in such a matter. That is not the point. If PKTrekGirl just sent me a PM telling me what her problem was I would have given her an answer.

Moderators, who are well trained and professional would use the PM system to inform the poster of an error or a feeling of an error of the rules. In the case of PKTrekGirl she wish to use the public message board as a way to shame the person.

With this tread, it is my way to shame PKTrekGirl in her abuse of power to use a public message board to shame a person then sending a private PM. Since this is not going to change her behavior, or, the moderators of this message board prefer to use public shame then a private PM to vent their feelings. It is clear that I will not come back to this message board. Therefore, I resign from this message board on this date, 14 August 2007. I will also be deleting my avatars from the DS9 avatar contest and withdrawing my entries. There is no point to send me a PM as I will not be back to read any of the postings.

With this tread, maybe PKTrekGirl will use the PM system to give moderator warnings then a public statement.

She's always been pretty fair to me. Though I've been pretty harsh to other posters. Probably time to build a bridge and get over and stay on the board. You're a good poster

Did you try PMing PKTrekGirl? It is true that as mods we will often comment in the thread itself, and use the PM system if we prefer a more direct and private communication with the poster(s). But warnings are not given via the PM system. I'd encourage you, personally, to consider discussing this with her in private. Perhaps you two can work something out.

No moderator on this board uses PMs to give friendly or official warnings.

If you'd read the rules--as her friendly warning asked you to do--you'd know that warnings have to go in the thread in question.

Thanks, Unicron for suggesting the correct course of action - which is PMing the mod about any disagreement....and then if it cannot be resolved that way, go to MA.

But of course, if we had read the rules, we'd know that.

Ezri, for what it's worth, I hope you don't leave. However, the further you dig yourself into this hole, the more valid my suggestion becomes. Please go read the rules, which you agreed to abide by when you joined this community.
