Well, it's happened again. Some adware found its way on to my computer and it currently frustrating me with its time-honored tradition of hounding me with ads with every four or five mouse clicks. As usual, it also seems to be garbage that none of my spyware software seems to be even detecting much less removing.

Does anyone know of any forums or websites that can help me find and remove this crap manually? This happened before and I had actually found an incredible forum that helped me out greatly, but the name of it has been lost to time. :( I'd greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

What spyware tools you using?

I've had fairly decent results with "superantispyware" from the dubious sounding superantispyware.com Legit program though. :)

The free version doesn't do realtime protection, but has removed practically everything I've had trouble with, including the heinous "Antivirus 2009" malware/trojan/thorn-in-my-side.

I'm currently playing with Comodo BOclean for realtime protection. Any users out there have comments on this one? Thanks in advance!

I actually was just about to post a request for help as well. I am battling the Virtumonde trojan, and cannot seem to get it deleted. I have tried Spybot, Norton/Symantec, and also some specific fixes called Vundofix and Fixvundo. Nothing seems to kill it. Any guidance here.

acapallasauraus, try updating your java to latest and greatest, then clean again. Virtumode utilizes a java exploit to infect your PC.

Alpha Geek. I'd like to thank you for leading me to that Super Anti Spyware website. I followed your suggestion and it wound up detecting alot of garbage that my other programs utterly failed to pick up (including that damnable "antivirus 2009" bot). So far things have been running smoothly again and I haven't had any more pop ups. :)
