I need some help figuring out what I've got

I found this in a storage building a few years ago and just ran across it again in my mancave.

I haven't found hardly any info on it, and not exactly sure what it is, or if it's worth insuring or if it's real, or what.

Any help would be appreciated

The shadow is from the scanner, no real damage to the cover except the light brown marks near the middle brad

looks like a draft of the script for Star Trek 3. titles can change during production, long after all the drafts of scripts are written.

it's a keeper!

I'm not a collector of Star Trek memorabilia. My dad used to watch it when I was young, so I know a little about the different series and whatnot, but never got into it.

It's kind of written like a short story/book, but also describes how the scenes would play out, if that makes sense, sort of like describing what supposed to happen on set and what the setting should be.

Any idea on the value, and if it's authentic, or how to get it authenticated?

Might be a story treatment. Any dates on it? If so, what? Any hand-written notes? How many pages is it? The more info you can give the better.

^^^Yep. If it is straight from Bennett's typewriter, it may be worth a couple bucks, otherwise, if is just a copy, worth only as much as one is willing to pay. I think I paid six or seven bucks for my copy of the outline ten years ago.

It's dated on the inside cover page, "September 16, 1982"

The top right corner of each page has the date as well, with "Return to Genesis" under the date.

It's 20 pages, front side only, no writing on the backs of the pages.

No hand scribbled notes, and the text appears to be a copy(no indentations on the paper)

I have an exact copy of it. Sorry, but it is just not that rare. They are sold at conventions, ebay, etc., for five to twenty bucks, at most.

Sorry...

No worries, that's why I came here. I never would have figured it out via google. Believe me, I tried:eek:

It would have been neat for it to be worth a few hundred(especially trying to go back to school), but 20 bucks is more than I have in it. It may just end up framed in the mancave:techman:

I would suggest getting a frame twice as wide as the page, so you you can display the cover AND a sample page next to it, maybe a page with interesting text.

Not sure if it's still the case, but when Majel was alive, they sold this treatment and a large number of other alternate treatments for the movies on the Roddenberry.com store. They had scripts for all the series including movies, writers' bibles, etc., as well.
