9 rejections out of 10 isn't as bad as 99 out of 100. It can get somewhat disheartening to be rejected that many times.

Though I do understand the point you are trying to make. You lose nothing by trying.

But your confidence gets feed by a yes, and diminished by no's.

You also have to factor into personality type. Outgoing or shy. For those with shy personality types even the simple task of asking someone out can take a lot of effort.

So I would suspect outgoign personality types deal better with rejection, whilst shy types don't.
