I need advice on what to do next regarding a female.

For all those wondering, she said yes to a meet up.

The issue at play with certain posters' lack of romantic success comes down to one thing IMO:

Confidence.

I think it's pretty clear to everyone when someone has a lack of confidence, whether it be online or in person. And if we can tell through your online presence of mere words and phrasing, imagine how much it comes across in person.

I know from experience how confidence can come into play. All throughout school from the time that the hormones kicked in (I was an early bloomer, had a crush on a girl in kindergarten) to about senior year of high school I had zero luck with romance. I didn't have an actual girlfriend until mid-Senior year and after that I was off on a pretty steady stream of dating. What happened in Senior year, you may ask? I finally conquered my acne, put on a bit of weight and became slightly less spindly and generally felt better about how I looked. That gave me a huge boost in confidence and it must have been apparent, because I finally had success when pursuing someone I was interested in. And that in turn was also a boost, and it was like a chain reaction of confidence building. It all started with the single realization that I was a catch, was looking good and deserved to be happy. No website full of people can give you that (unless they've somehow managed to figure out the art of inception) it can only come from within. And once it does, it'll be obvious to those around you and you'll be much more attractive to the opposite sex.

You might as well be talking to a brick wall on that one, dude. It's nothing Trekker, Aldo, et al haven't heard a million times already from different people.

Any sane dating site wouldn't have paired me with my boyfriend because he lives nearly 2 hours away. Luckily, we used trekbbs.com, which didn't take the MD/VA thing into consideration.

By now you've noticed that this is one of my threads, and I'm asking a question regarding females. So I'll answer your question first: No, it is not someone I work with, lol.

So to make a long story short, I joined a dating site. And I got pretty lucky in that I got a response to one of my messages. Not only that she keeps responding to my messages. The only problem is I'm not sure how to escalate the conversation.

So far I've just asked random questions based on her profile and she's responded, but I'm not sure where to go from there. She responds to my messages, so that's something (and yes, I realize that just because she is responding doesn't mean anything).

I'm just not very good at this it seems, any help would be appreciated.

You are learning. It doesn't matter if you blow this one, it will be a lesson for next time.

So experiment away!
