I need a quick NF rundown

RoJoHen

Awesome
Admiral
I just picked up Treason the other day, and I'm about to start reading it. However, it's be so long since the last book that I barely remember what happened. Here are lots of things I remember, but I can't put them together or remember WHY/HOW certain things happened.

Shelby is an Admiral?
Lefler married Si Cwan. Si Cwan died...?
Calhoun and Jellico are friends? Is that right?
There was some drama between Xion and Si Cwan's sister or something? Maybe? Or was that a really long time ago?

I seriously need to go back and reread this whole series. It's all become such a blur.

Not in response to the above but I have the same difficulty. I read the first four novels in the New Frontier series but it was so long before I got number five that I had completely forgotten what they were about. Because of this, I never have gotten around to continuing the series. Can someone give me an update or summary as well?

All of the relevant backstory is reintroduced in Treason. You should be fine jumping right into it.

Same goes for the 5th book too. It starts a new story arc, so pretty much whatever you need to know will be recapped in the book.

yes. yes. yes. Calhoun's son Xyon kidnapped Kalinda to stop her from marrying some one else. it nearly resulted in a civil war in the Thallonian Protectorate. that was in both ATF and MIA.

What happened in the the turnaround comic? (There was a reference in the new NF book and I wanted to know)

All of these questions can usually be answered by synopses on Memory Beta.

Several books ago, Morgan's physical body was destroyed and her consciousness entered the ship's computer. Morgan built herself a holographic body that can appear all over the ship, and even in Robin's palace in Thallonian space. During the comic mini-series, she splits herself into several locales at once, but all versions are seemingly destroyed. "Treason" reveals
that all she had to do was reboot herself. But now Calhoun is realizing how powerful she's become.

Thanks for this info. At least reading book 5 doesn't seem to be so daunting.

And it was only four small books before it too, so it's not like a ton of stuff happend.

The thread topic does not say spoilers. So any spoilers should go in a spoiler tag. Not everyone has read the entire series.

Can the moderators please fix the spoilers?

Just because it dosen't say spoilers in the title, the OP has requested to be brought upto speed on the comings and goings in the New Frontier stories, so, you know what, if you've come in here and been spoiled, you only have yourself to blame :bolian:

The point of it all is that unless it says spoiler in the topic, there is not supposed to be actual open spoilers.

Which ones haven't been fixed yet? I accidentally did a minor "Treason" spoiler answering someone's query, which I fixed as soon as I was reminded.
The OPs original message contains spoilers. The questions asked can be considered such even though they might be incorrect.

Or you could use your brain and some common sense and you know, not enter the thread.

How else can you explain something like the back story of New Frontier (or anything actually) with out discussing what happens.

Next time when you see a thread entitled something along the lines of this one, just don't bloody enter as your complaining in my eyes is just pointless and you come across as a wee bit stupid.

Then why are you even in here? "I need a quick NF rundown" seems to suggest that people are about to fill a thread with quick rundowns. And all rundowns are spoilers. Even blurbs on the backs of books are spoilers. Most cover art contains spoilers.
